CueTable Help

anyone know how to double kiss the 1 ball in or very close to bottom hole? I can dbl. kiss it to my side, but would like to learn how to make it, if possible.

I don't think that will be a recommended shot here.

The 1 has a high risk of ending up (off) the end rail and would sell out a bank...(and a run out)

I don't play 1-pocket, but I would think that a seasoned 1-pocket would start drooling if you shot that type of shot here... :)

I don't know. My concern is that you would have to hit it hard enough to bounce the CB out to where he can then shoot at his hole after your shot doesn't go. Looks pretty sporty. JMHO

As silly as this may sound, but depending on my opponents ability...I would kick at the one before I would try a "flyer" like double kissing it. You can control the speed of the cue ball and the one ball alot better by kicking at it rather than double kissing it. And if you hang it up and he makes it and then follows the cue ball in, all 4 balls go in your pocket. JMO.

Shot

1) Playing a low skill player, I would kick the 1 in.
2) Playing a high skill player, I would bank the 2 ball long rail, and leave the cueball by the first diamond uptable from the top side pocket.

Knowing your opponent is half the battle!

IMO, anything other than no.2,or similiar, is inviting disaster.

No way I'm double kissing this ball. I'm not even sure I could reach it (righty).

If you are ahead 2 rail the 1 up table. If you are behind, your most aggressive (but not necessarily best) shot is the 4-railer.

I too, would bump the 1 back up the table a little and leave the cueball inline with the 2and whatever the ball is next to it. Those two have the two rail blocked for the next shooter. Like someone said we all are just waitting for the guy that plays the double kiss.---Smitty

The shot here is to bank the one ball to near the side pocket on your side leaving the cue ball frozen to the foot rail. You will probably get a decent shot on your next turn. Keep the cue ball on the rail so your opponent can only roll the cue . However; if you don't like money then shoot the kiss. Patience will win this game for you. I don't like the bank on the 2 because if you don't pocket it there is a good chance you will leave a bank. There is no need here to give your man any shot from here.

Are you rt-left handed ?

Why can't you just cut the ball in with rt english. Why give the other player anything rt'y know's that shot. I've seen guys cut that ball in from all the way up the table to the kitchen. mark

You're suppose to play the score here no matter who your opponent is. If you were to sell out any shot, all the balls go in your opponents pocket. Just knock the one up table and stop the cue ball right there. It's really a no brainer; that's the only option as far as i'm concerned.

This is the only offensive shot I like. Otherwise play the score and punt the one up table leaving your opponent on the rail and looking for a safety....still probably the best shot.

I like playing safe, but I think moving the one is preferred to leaving it there, as a couple of other posters have suggested. What they didn't suggest (and it probably does not matter, just my preference) is moving the cue ball to the 1st diamond on the long rail by my opponent's pocket. I think that way it would be hard for my opponent to try to move a ball to his side w/o giving up a shot. It looks like a tough spot either way for my opponent, but I do like keeping my opponent buried near his pocket with all the balls downtown near my side.

No reason to cut at this ball unless you are just pissed at your wallet. I'm never that mad at mine.

Might be an ok shot in 9-ball, but shooting this flyer is a super sellout in 1-h. Does the livestock come with the farm?
