Great owner. :D

I'm heading up a tour bus that's coming down from Branson to watch their first pool tournament. I'd like to coordinate it with the Viking Tour event that's being held at your place. Please give dates and times.

We love the geriatric crowd. They move a little slow but outspend pool players 3 to 1. :D

And we can probably put the move on them and get rid of all the stuff.

Spoiled here in L.A., there is HardTimes of course, a great poolhall not to far away in Riverside, lot of one-pocket in Santa Monica.

The nicest poolhall is Hollywood Billiards and speaking of women one time I was in there and a friend pointed out the Playboy Playmate of the year at one of the tables. I told several people she was in the room and could they guess where and they kept picking other women in the room but no one picked her and she was gorgeous but still only about #5 in that room. Hooray for Hollywood!!!

Damn, and I thought Amsterdam Billiards was strong in that regard! In addition to its fantastic equipment, top players, great atmosphere and location, of course. I'd vote for it, with Master's in second, for NYC ... and Julian's, if my time machine were up and running.

It depends on what your idea of "nice" is. If it is an upscale pool room, than this might not be the one for you, but Hard Times in Bellflower is definitely worthy of mention here.
They have the best tournament room I have ever seen. Too bad they stopped having the big tournaments there. They used to have some great ones in the early 90's.

i personally like hard times of sacramento the most. the hard times in bellflower didnt quite have as good tables, although they were still better than most places.

Hello,

My favorites that I've been to:

Tacony Billiards - PA
Amsterdam - NY
Drexeline - PA
Spin City - Queens, NY

I seem to find something I like about alot of them but heres a list of some I remember fondly. ( in no order

Herman and Anns in Dothan Al-- No frills at all pool room but about 14 or so 9foot GCs kept in good shape. 2 old brunswick snooker tables with tight pockets and about 12-15 bar tables. Cheap food and drinks. Plenty of action
and a good group of regulars. The kind of place that knew who you were and
wanted you there.

Hardtimes -- Bellfower -- Nice event room and plenty of tables. Plenty
of good players and a nice monthly event. Table time is reasonable.

Hollywood Billiards- hollywood ca -- great place...one of the nicest I have ever been to..setup is spot on.....more fine ladies than any poolroom in america....not many places can you play next to the "stars"....tables are tough and in great shape.....tvs everywhere and great food...someone put a lot of thought into the room

Some room in Fargo ND...downtown..... just nice people...had a great time and gambled with no problems....tables were decent...a mix between an old school room and some newer frills (but not many).

Teachers -- I really liked the place when I was there. Not sure when he downsized it but the layout was nice at the time I was there.
It was almost two seperate units or places. Easy to watch action or events and not get in the way. Good prices.

Gatsbys -- Boca Raton -- maybe it was that I won a pool tournament there
4 times and that there were plenty of ladies there. The tournaments were free scotch dooubles events. The paid decent in gift certificates to the place. Festive atmosphere and very very nice. Great food and staff was
friendly.

A room in Aurora Co -- even people from Denver did not know it was there...
since has been closed I believe...downstairs in a basement type location...filled with Diamonds at cheap prices..no one around to bother anyone.

StarZone in Atlanta ...not sure if its still there..it was a cool place when
I was there....tons of nice tables and good tournaments...

JOB Billiards in Nashville ... plenty of action...nice tables...nice staff and
patrons... super event room ..... always something going on.

Chattanooga Billiard Cub ... Both the old one and the new...I loved the feel
in the old one...new one was nice and had was kept up ... its been awhile but I would guess that it is the same and is still there....very good food.

Tablesteaks ....Denver Co ...nice layout ....good tables ...reasonable prices..
good food ( probably the most food sold that I ever saw being sold at any room) ..action .....Friendly players.

MaGoo's in Tulsa.

In Magoos I found that that the decorative lighting is a mismatch. The blue did not match well with other colors otherwise I would have given the place number one.
(1) Billiards palce,Tulsa,OK
(2)Hollywood Billiards,Hollywoods,CA
(3)Hard Times Billiards,Greater Los Angeles,CA
(4)Tacony`s,Philadelphia,PA
(5) JimBob`s in Gulfport,Mississippi
(6)Amsterdam Billiards,Manhattan,NY

There may be other great places but I have not visited every place in USA.

By the way does any one remember Kramer and Eugene in Concord,NC where the Cheff of this pool room was reportedly paid salary of $80,000/year?The place was closed long time ago.
Vagabond

Tulsa Billilard Palace. Run by a great guy, Jim McDermott, who can play. Caters to players. Good equipment and well-maintained. I wouldn't recommend that you bring the kids.

If you can't find action there, you ain't lookin'! :p
