Does anyone think Yang has a chance against Orcullo in the money match scheduled in April?

On April 20, 21 and 22, Orcollo will take on a new challenge when he faces Yang Ching-shun of Taiwan in a winner-take-all 9-ball marathon presented by Golden Pool Classic at the Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City.

The race-to-60 duel dubbed as “It’s all about money...and more” and organized by Bugsy Promotion and Rocketman Enterprises offers $10,000 (nearly P.5 million) to the winner.

It's a race to 60. That could be over 100 games of 9 ball. I don't think it will be a test of endurance because even a guy like me can play 100 games of 9 ball as long as I get one good night's rest before the match.

They're saying it will be a test of endurance and who will be in the best shape but I don't think so.

It seems like it is a long enough race to give the best player an edge but endurance seems immaterial.

the favorite though. Endurance is a non-factor here. They will be playing for 3
days, that will be 40 games max for each day if they ever reach hill-hill...

I would not be too sure about Dennis winning the match. According to earlier reports, he has been in a slump lately and has been beaten by Lee Van Corteza at least 3 times already in money games.

I didn't realize that YANG had already beaten both Bustamante and Alcano for the cash. ???????? I thought YANG was just the top money player in China. I wonder if my V CASH bet is in jeopardy.

Yang definitely has a chance. Dennis has been in a slump, losing FOUR times to Van Van. I still pick Dennis to win a close one, 60-54.

I watched Denis at the KPT championships and he was definitely the most in form player there. I didn't get to watch the end of the event (I think Mika or Alconno won), but Denis was the smoothest player I've ever had a chance to watch. It was beautiful. I don't think he missed a makeable ball in the matches I watched. The other big names I saw there didn't amaze me. They just weren't playing that great. But Denis was. Every mistake by his opponent was capitalized on. Almost every time he broke and made a ball, he was out.

I actually got a chance to talk with him briefly and I completely forgot to ask him about this upcoming match. Stupid!
