i got an idea. since me and many other 14.1 players will be at the derby i want to put this out there and see what kind of response i get. i will do a 4 hour 14.1 clinic with the first 5 paid people.the fee would be 100 per person.i would prefer it to be people who have never run 100.that way im not showing you things you should already know.i plan on doing it early in the day if possible with as much privacy as we can find.i plan on running 50-100 for everyone and explaining exactly how and why i shoot the balls off the way i do.i will also give anyone who wants one my dvd of me running 245 for free if they are part of the clinic.looking forward to seeing you at the derby.

I would be interested but I am only around the first Friday, Sat and part of Sunday. If your schedule is early, I am game as long as I can still play my bank pool match!

Peace, JBK

I would like to reserve one of those 5 slots if it is the first weekend. Please respond with a time.

JS,
Please sign me up. Let us know the exact day and time when you are sure (I will be attending Fri., Sat., then Tues., Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sat.). There are quite a few Indy players who would be interested in such an event - if I knew the exact day and time I'm sure you will have no problem filling.

John: I'd like to get in on it, too. Please let me know when that would be so I could schedule accordingly.

Just got the ok from Momma.

Tell me when and where.

What a great deal, I may have to rethink going to the Derby now. Four hours for $100. That's a phenominal deal from a world class straight pool talent.

I dont play st8 pool and wont be at the DCC, but I would jump at this offer if would be there. My digital camera would be running for a long time that day, wonder how big a memory card it would take for 4 hours... :)

I'm sure you could get a lot more than 5 people to sign up for that, and I'm sure if you made a video you could market it.

What a good idea. Scheduling and finding a table might be difficult, but I bet that you could sell out as many clinics as you wanted to hold. Good Luck

Paul Mon and I are both in if its the last 3 days of the Derby.

John, you should first, specify a time and day at the tournament for your clinic. Let everyone know precisely how many people will be able to attend and if you will have a second seminar and if so, what day and time? Then you should request confirmation in this forum as to who wants to attend. After you confirm those persons you should request that the money be sent to you IMMEDIATELY, since time is short and DCC is around the corner. If they cannot make it to your seminar after paying the $100, perhaps they can send someone in their place.

Set the date and time:
Confirm how many will be in attendance: FIVE PEOPLE IN CLINIC.
Collect the money in advance: $100 EACH
Notify if the seminar fills up or if you or going to have a second seminar:

Hey John, Also You Should Be Thinking Of Allan Hopkins Event In Valley Forge ,pa. In March...ithink It Would Go Over Very Well...
Good Idea...

John,

This is a great idea! I'll be there the last 4 days, so I'll see if you have any spots open at that time. Seems like there's a big demand, and it might be a way to defray tournament costs. I'm betting if you coordinated with even local pool halls in the areas that you travel to tournaments in, you could easily pick up a grand or two extra by scheduling group seminars. Good to see you branching out a bit into lessons, man...

hi

well im flattered and excited so many want too attend.im talking to the action guys today or tommorrow to see if we can use the action room from say 9-1 and have the door closed for privacy .10 people is the most i will teach at one time.if needed ill do two days in a row.ill get back to everybody soon to let you know which day they will let me have the room.they also made a nice offer to make a dvd for the people in the clinic for free so they can watch and practice at home.

How I only wish I could be there for this. I mean, the price is unreasonable...unreasonably LOW! Talk about a deal for anyone who is lucky enough to attend. To have a champion player like John give a 4 hour clinic on straight pool and a free DVD on top of it, for $100 bucks?!?! That is unheard of, and an absolute steal.

What a class act and a great ambassador for our game. You always seem to outdo yourself with your generosity to us pool fans. If you ever do anything in the CA Bay Area, I'm there.

hi

well heres what i think i might have to do.because i do not know what day exactly is good for everyone and the table accomodations are going to be ,im just gonna work it like this. im going to go to the derby and get a feel for where and when would be the best day time and place.im figuring on doing it on the 4 th or 6th but im not sure yet.once i get there i will make a announcment and let people sign up for a couple days until i get 10 people then we will do it.i know this is not the best way to do it but the derby is such a circus that i dont want to make plans for certain days and piss people off because the tourneys will not allow it. i will take 10 people max for 4 hours for 100 dollars it will just be a first come first serve type thing. again thanks everybody for your interest and hope to see a bunch of you..
