14.1 who would win?

Filler's more creative and spontaneous.
Have not seen any straight pool from Gorst. If he plays it as meticulously as the other games,

flip a coin.

I'd wager Filler, though really if it's a race to 150 or something like that either guy is capable of running out.

There is no one on the planet right at this moment that would beat filler to 2000 points.

1 by far: filler
2 in solid second: Shaw
3-10 probably a bunch. Thorsten is probably still in this group. 10 years ago he would have been #1.

sounds about right. in the above linked tournament he ran the set out on alex and albin, race to 150, diamond tables. with that said i don't know of any other current top pro that actually plays straight pool routinely, except for maybe zielinski. iow we don't know of the (potential) straight pool game of all the top guns.

Assuming we're playing on 4 1/2" pockets, Filler is a clear favorite in a long race, but Gorst's near perfect fundamentals and superior temperament give him a realistic chance against anybody in any pool discipline.

Straight pool, contrary to popular opinion, is not about high runs but instead consistency. The player that makes most of his opportunities count is the one that usually wins.

Very good observation, I agree totally. This would make for an interesting match up though.

Who could beat Gorst in one pocket? I can't think of anyone.
How about the guy Fedor says he won‘t play?…...says he leaves him in places where he doesn’t know what to do.

No chance Thorsten is top ten. Hate to say it, but I haven't seen a top player who's game has fallen off as much as his has. His poor technique has really gotten the best of him.

If you're talking about a traditional race to 150 I think you're spot on, but if it's a marathon to 2,000 then I'd side with iusedtoberich. Filler's temperament would help him conserve energy.

That ain't as important for guys in their early 20s. How come they don't match up? Everyone wants to see it. 14.1 to 1000, 10 ball to 100, race to 10 in one pocket. Best of three. I'd buy that match...and I'm cheap!
