1940's Ebony Titlist Conversion from AE Cues

Just got this cue. Been looking for an Ebony Titlist for a long time with that 40's dullish colors. This hit really nice! Might try and find some old wood for a matching shaft. Thoughts on that???

Very nice conversion! I had seen some of AE's cues around, but never pulled the trigger until recently...I have to say I was impressed with the playability of the one I picked up!

Wow, it's amazing he could find a conversion cue so awesome to work with.

Since the cue is a conversion, I think everybody pretty much anticipates the mis-match in colors. The patina is only on the surface - AE intentionally did not take down too much of the surface to protect the integrity of the original cue and I like what they did a lot. It's probably not worth the trouble matching an old shaft to the cue.

Love the cue! AE cues are very underrated in my opinion. Living in CO I have seen and hit with many of them and their work is really good with a consistent hit in all their cues-very crisp. For some reason they don't hold their value when reselling, except for maybe this conversion cue, not really sure why. Their point work and finish are outstanding.

I hear you Chris, I just love the feel of an old wood shaft. It's like playing a 63' Strat!

Thanks Dave. I forgot you're right around the corner from them. This is the first AE I've hit with so I don't have a reference point. I just know it's in the top 5 best playing cues I've hit with. It feels right in my hands. This one doesn't have a crisp hit. It's smooth and precise even with a hard tip.

Beautiful cue. Why worry about old shafts if this is one of the best playing cues in your experience? Congratulations.

I'm playing with it no problem, just looks a litttle two toned. Plus I just love how the old wood plays.
 
This beast might be up for sale soon. Can't believe I'm saying that. Will come with an old wood Steve Lomax shaft as well as the original 2 from AE.
