Dallas West

None of the following people, mentioned earlier in this thread, played in this event: Bruce Christopher (Christiansen), Clarence Fry, Al Gassner, Larry Lisciotti, Jim Mataya, Jim Rempe, and Bob Vanover.

Joe Balsis still had hair on top in the early 70's; the only player in the field who was bald on top was Larry Johnson, so I'd say the shooter on the table to the right is Shorty..

The guy on the table to the right is almost certainly Jack Colavita. Willie Munson is the black guy on the left and Cicero Murphy is the black guy sitting down in front. That is Dallas West shooting left handed (he could do that quite well). The guy in back looks like Lassiter but he is maybe too tall to be him. I will take another look. I think the tall white haired guy in back, chalking his cue, is Al Gassner, not Wimpy. The young hippy looking kid is leaving me baffled. It doesn't look like Hopkins, Margo, Lane or Florence.

Plus 1 on Colivita Jay. Balsis was much 'beefier' even 10 years prior to 73.

Bear in mind, the guy on the right who appears to be bald, is probably not bald. It's a severe glare on his head caused by the light. Could be either Colavita or Balsis. The jaw on him appears to be more like Balsis, but tough to tell. Also, some have been debating whether the guy chalking his cue on the left rear is Wimpy, but I believe Wimply had a more ample belly by that point. This guy looks a bit slimmer. I'll check some earlier footage of Wimpy so see if he normally chalked with his left hand.

TKS for the update. Looks like Willie got on a serious bulking program.

Willie Munson Dallas West Charles sorry don't know how to spell his last name but it started Cap from Chicogo next Joe Balsis Leroy Kiddman

book collector...Superstroke (what a joke) was Bruce Christopher, not Christiansen. Definitely not him, as he never played good enough to get into the US Open.

I thought all you needed in an Open was the entry fee?
I try to do my best to put names to faces of people many have never seen before, problem is my memory is terrible since I got poisoned .
I usually try to put a question mark after the ones I am not sure of .
