... A Master High Run list of ALL the best runs achieved by AZ members in 2006
I had a 50 last night in league. I missed a difficulty 5 shot on a table with generous pockets. My next inning was a 40.

hmm im not sure what my high run is in straight pool. Pretty sad considering its my favorite game, eh? I know I have did a 50 something in a match play a few times. But most of the 14.1 I play is in practice because there are very few players who will play. But because i dont have people to play against my game isn't as good as it should be.

Well I will play this Saturday and see what I can manage. I'll try and get someone to play a 150 point game, to give myself more of opportunities to get a run going.

Anyone playing in the 141 qualifiers? They have one 4-22 at G-Cue in chicago. I plan on spectating that one.

Later, Dennis

I'm playing in the 14.1 qualifier at Bill & Billies on April 15th. I haven't been playing great but have been winning my Wednesday night straight pool league matches. High run of 40 last month with a 6-1 record.

Nice, 90 points in consecutive innings is definitely world class shooting. Good job, Bob !

So, a brand new list:
2006 AZ Straight Pool Challenge High Run Top 10
73 (Gerry, 12th Jan)
66 (mjantti, 9th Mar)
53 (TheOne, 4th Jan)
50 (Bob Jewett, 14th Mar)
48 (SJM, 2nd Jan)
46 (dmgwalsh, 6th Jan)
41 (Samiel, 2nd Mar)
41 (HobokenAPA 3rd Feb)
34 (mikepage)

If you want to remove your entries, please post ;)

My 14.1 Finnish Champs went down the drain. Short races to 75, won my first match (high run 42) comfortably, lost my second when my opponent ran out in 3 innings: my break, his 5, my difficult missed ball, his 52, my 7 and a tough miss and his 18-out. And then in the loser side played badly, managed to make a run of 41 and still lost. Was happy to run over 40 in 2 matches in a short race to 75, but not too happy with my overall performance. Too many missed balls...

Thanks Mj, I will update the first page now.

PS
You going to Euro Tour Italy?

Hi guys, who's coming to ET Italy? I'll be there, couldn't miss it on my home turf...

Back to the thread, last week in a practice session before a national tournament I ran 30-38-72 in three consecutive innings, then I quit disappointed for missing a hanger in the last one (it was the shot after the break, with 14 balls spread on the table, and I already could smell the century...) :(

Hi Tom, I am trying to get to Italy - not 100% yet.

You probably missed because you smelled the century - the few times I have crossed that mark I didn't know about it before afterwards..

Hi TOM I've added you to the main list on the first page.

PS
I'll be in Italy, you don't know if there's any pool halls in Croatia or Slovenia do you? (I might go there for a few days before)

I know Ivica Putnik from Croatia lives and plays in Split, but I ignore the name of the poolhall.
I've played a tournament in Lubljana, Slovenia three-four yrs in a row, at the poolhall where Matjaz Erculj and Marko Bakarcic play. If you need I can take better info on the name-address of this one.:)

U're right Christian, after breaking the rack I was almost sure it was the right time... But it wasn't...
Hope to see you in Monfalcone :)

Thats brilliant, I was looking to fly into Lubljana and practise for a few days and maybe visit Croatia (but not split) before going to Monfalcone and flying back out of Trieste or Venice. Is the pool hall in Lubljana any good? If you can provide directions or an address that would be great!

Cheers

new nr 1 - for how long?

Ok, it will be nice to top a ranking for a while, so here it goes:

101- 4th of February

Made the hundredandsecond ball, caromed of three different balls in a half open rack and scratched slowly in the corner pocket:eek:
Had that nice feeling where you cant miss, so loosing the cue ball was the only way to stop the run..

Jewett ran 52 at the DCC. I ran 60 about Feb 4.

Good to see someone break the 100 mark. Nice job.

C'mon Craig, work on that ton yourself!

I really need to get practicing to try and compete with you guys in the 60s and 70s.

This weekend, I promise, its been way too long. Good to see some decent scores posted, it gives everyone something to aim for at all levels to move up the list. Still think there's a few players on here that can post some really big scores, Jimmy M, Steve L, hey whats Keith's best I don't remember anyone posting his best run before, Im sure its alot?

Hi Craig, the billiard club I was talking about is: Biljardna hiša Ljubljana (Parmova 25, 1000 Ljubljana).

I've seen many worse places, even if it's not the poolhall of our dreams.
If u want to practise in one hour drive or so from Monfalcone there are a few places you can go to: a nice club in Trieste called Break Point, two clubs in Montebelluna (New Billiard and Mari Club, where Sandor Tot lives and plays), then some poolhalls around Venezia and Padova, a couple in Udine and so on...
If u need some more info, just post here or PM me.

See you in Monfalcone, I'll be somewhere near the bar :p

Finally dethroned!........

FYI, I did get a 68 on tape 2 nights ago. Then I watched it and really hate how I shoot!...I look nothing like the classic 14.1 greats...the whole time I was yelling at myself about poor patterns, no insurance balls, traveling too far....no wonder I never put up big numbers!:D

Gerry

Nice run pooladdict !! Century mark broken, who's next ?

And, I don't think I have a chance to go to Eurotour for a few months, still low on funds... those trips are darn expensive... :p

I had a really odd session of pool. After numerous false starts I ran a 94 which is my absolute best to date. The rest of the day I shot terribly. Sometimes I don't get it. Nevetheless Im happy with my run.

Does this run count for the challenge thingy because it was in practice and not against an opponent?

Most definitely. If you ran them, you ran them. Well done, Cameron!
