2010 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

okay I managed to string together 14 balls so let it be a start for me in 2010

wow, I've just checked that puts me in the very end of the list, haha. Gonna improve shortly or I will remain the worst.

I'm just starting to play straight pool, but I'll get myself on here....at the least it'll be good for me to chart my improvement ;)

I had 13 - Feb. 9

Thanks!

Feb 12: I ran 14, 13, 10, 27 and 22. I'll post a video of 27 (and maybe 22) when it's ready.

ran 51 today- nice and steady, controlled the cue ball nicely. as always, i ended my run on a fairly simple shot. this time it was my key ball- must be performance anxiety
try again tomorrow
thanks, jim

The Dirty Dozen (12)...

Got to play (practice) a little a week or so ago. Best I could manage was a 12. It was on some crappy equipment, but I can't use that as an excuse. Mostly, it was a tremendous lack of focus (and a bit of rust).

But at least, as they say, I'm on the board.

I am planning to play some more in the next week or two. Hopefully, I can improve on this. I plan on playing a lot more this year, so watch out!

In the meantime, put me down for a 12.

50

Made it to 50 on Friday in a game to 150 with Winston 846. Missed the 51st ball on a slow roller to the top left pocket that faded out of the pocket as it approached. The table had a roll toward that pocket. The rack was broken open and the run could very easily been continued.

He can thank me for setting up that run. :p

I played a perfect safe with the balls open leaving the cue ball froze to the 3 ball. But I touched the 5 for a table foul and ended up having to play out of that safe myself after he took an intentional. That changed the whole outcome of the game.

Thanks

Congrats for getting over the 50 Hurdle !!:p

Keep it up!
Steve

Thanks Steve. It's posts like yours that reinforce improvement. It's also posts like Winston864's that make long runs and victories so sweet. Quick! Can someone please call him a waaaaaaaaaaaa-mbulance!!!

It's got nothing to do with calling a waaaaaaaaaaaaambulance. The fact of the matter is that the table foul forced me to play out of that safety instead of you, which changed the outcome of the game. Had you played out of that safety instead of me, the balls would have never laid the way they did for you to make your run (even though you made it a couple of innings later), and I would have been at the table instead of you.

everyone have to fight under the same conditions- no matter to search for excuses. shit happens.....

and also from me congratz for leaving the *50* behind you^^

Not making ANY excuses. Just stating that I committed a foul and it cost me (and let it be known that I called the foul on myself). It's not an excuse, it's just something that's nobody's fault but mine and could/should have been avoided. Unfortunately, a previous comment seems to portray me as sore loser.

Today I had 2 30's and a 41. I also had a number of runs in the upper 20's. Best overall day in a long time.

Does practice count, or is it runs from matches only?
I've never properly played 14.1 before this year.
My best in a match is 25. In practice I've had about 45 (it was three racks plus a few, but I wasn't really counting).
