2010 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

Thanks. That was my high run. I can get in the 20s and 30s often but that was my first one over 50. I'm working on playing better patterns. Typically I don't play the end of the rack very well.

Don t worry Shane :)
often there are just a few situations where player just choosing a wrong sequence because a *position* failed for some inches- then they re a bit afraid/scary to miss the next ball (which is still good *to shoot* in most cases)- and, of course- in my opinion it is always better, to solve your problems as soon as you can in a rack- many guys just *runnin around* their problems and it s getting harder...and harder...etc :p

Soon it will make *click* Shane, and you ll run many more 50 s :) if you re often in the 20/30 s, the ability is already there- just do it

I ran a 117 tonight at the Rack and Cue in Campbellsville. 1/17/2010

Landon, that is so Great. There are many adults that can not run a 100 balls & will never see it in their lives. I went over to your profile and then to the link to your web site. I am very impressed with your titles. I am sure that your Dad is very proud of you, as he should be.
Please post a video on AZ for us to see you play. Even if it is rack or two. I did not find one on your web site.
The only advise that I can give you. Is to: Listen to your Dad.
Don't get involved with bad people in Life and stay in school.
Good luck to you always & Best Wishes.
Mike

Landon. Where are you? If your doing school work. Then that is good.

Finally a run worth posting...

45 - 1/22/10

I've been struggling as of late, but played OK tonight.

Straight Pool Challenge

Had a run of 46 end with a scratch in the side. Had tWo balls on the side rail at the 1st diamond - one could go the other couldn't. The cue ball was in the rack about 4 inches from the OB. The shot was in the corner with a slight cut going toward the side rail with the tied up balls. The CB was about an inch in front of the 13 so I was bridging over the 13 and digging to draw to the side rail for the problem balls. I hit the draw perfectly, but slightly too hard. The CB found the side pocket - barely. It was witnessed by John Durr (my opponent) and occurred at Jack & Jill's Billiards on Blackman St. in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Thank You

Thanks straightman. I just wish I had the time to practice/play as I had as a teeneager. I'm sure we all have that wish. Thanks again.

Ron

Been bored with 9 ball so started to practice 14.1 this week. Had terrible results all week. Finally 26 and 34 tonight. I'm starting to remember how to play after 5-6 years of not playing.

Good run

ran 48 yesterday, 1/24. jawed the ball prior to the key ball- had visions of a personal high- oh well
thanks,
jim

"had visions of a personal high" That's funny. I too start thinking of things while I am shooting and end up missing. Can't seem to break the habit. I start having a good run and then I start thinking: I can't wait to post this on AZ and then I miss or get stuck etc.
Anyways Jim, keep up the good work.

I haven't played since last year. I beat them around a little the last week or so. Last night got into the 3rd rack a few times but can't make it into the 4th. Going to keep playing every night for a month. Should be able to beat my top score from last year.

Not just my best for the year but my best ever by a large(ish) amount. 49 balls in a league match at Amsterdam Billiards. 17/1

Actually it was 38 and out, but my opponent let me keep shooting. Does that still count?

Hey andy put me down for my big one of this year.i just bested my 164 with a 223.i geuss all the sigel buzz got into me.thanks buddy for all the kind comments also.

I played in the DCC challenge this year and ran a 29 on a Diamond so I will take that for my first run on AZ. I have video and will post a link shortly. Thanks
