Introducing my latest addition to the wrapless full splice family:
Once again, pictures really just do not do this cue justice...it is really very pretty in the hand.
I just really cannot say enough about how great it was to work with Keith and Sherri...oh yeah, and that drummer dude, Tim, too.
Not only are they some of THE nicest people on the planet, but they enjoy a bit 'o fun too. You see, I had no idea how this cue had turned out until I opened the tube...complete surprise, and a terrific one at that!!!
Originally, this cue was to have a more 'traditional' inlay treatment in the butt, but Keith decided to do something special, and I am actually really happy with how it turned out! First thing that struck me was that the fleur de lis in the butt looked like they were dancing...hence the name.
Okay, as per my previous experience...fit and finish in this cue is top notch. The inlay work into the lighter colored wood is amazing, no gaps or filler...they seem so delicate. I love the actual style of the fleur de lis inlays...just as I was hoping for.
I had Keith make me two shafts with this cue, one being a wonderfully clean Timeless Timber shaft, and then a 'Primo' Josey shaft from a very limited stock...both are super tight grained...and both play extremely well. I think the TT shaft will be my primary shaft...LOVED the way it felt...but the "Primo' Josey shaft is a very close second.
I had Keith put one of his SS sleeved 3/4" Radial pinned joints, and it was just the right decision for me. The cue feels and plays very solidly, has terrific balance in the hand, and did absolutely everything I asked of it. Not much more you can ask of a cue, IMHO.
I would urge any one who is considering a Josey cue to just do it!! Great consistent players that happen to look good too!!
