2015 DCC Bigfoot tournament

Thanks, Jay, for putting together another great event. Just three weeks away. Can't wait.

Will every match be played on the stream table?

Yes it will, thanks to Pat Fleming and Greg Sullivan for helping to arrange that.

Jay,

This is just a fly by night thought, but maybe it would be something worth entertaining.

You may have noticed we have a 2015 Ghost Challenge thread. Hopefully it keeps up, and we have a wide assortment of data by the end of the year.

Would you consider extending an invite to the top player in that thread? They would still be responsible for all expenses, but it at least gets their foot in the door.

It's a possibility but I like to see guys with a proven record against other top players. Players like Ruben Batista and Jeff Ignazio are not so well known yet, but believe me they aren't afraid to mix it up with anyone.

Bet this means D. Appleton might be playing in the $100,000 Chinese 8-Ball Tournament that is happening same time as Derby. Johnny A. was talking about it on his last ABR phone interview. Guess Johnny sticking around for Derby instead. Something tells me J.A. is determined to earning another Mosconi appearance.

Perhaps Earl headed to Chinese 8-Ball. Purse is quite large.

Still be an incredible lineup for Bigfoot. Thanks again Jay. Hope your invitational in CA still happens!

Look forward to seeing you at the Derby. J.B.

Jay,you seem to be in the KNOW where it comes to the Filipino players.Do you know if my favorite PI player is coming? I'm talking about Rodrigo " Edgie" Geronimo ,who hung out at Edgies pool room in Milpitas,Ca when he first got here . He had the demeanor of a young Bata.
Edgie will be there. He is qualified for the American Rotation finals that are being held Thursday Friday 22nd 23rd.

Niels will not be going to the DCC at all this year, Kat and he are expecting the birth of their second child any day now.

gr. Dave

Well that's great news. Always loved how niels had that perfect balance between a professional pool career and a family man. Good for him and the wife on the new addition.

I'm interested in seeing Jayson Shaw this year. I think he's poised for a breakout year. The last few nights he has been streaming his practice sessions and some gambling against the ghost. He looks like he is really in stroke.

Well here we go again, sixteen great players playing on the Diamond 10' monster! Once again we will have a stellar field of players and that should produce many great matches in the Accu-Stats arena (ALL matches are live streamed and televised later in selected markets).

Here's the field as it stands now:

Shane Van Boening, Dennis Orcollo, Johnny Archer, Lee Vann Corteza, Nick Van Den Berg, Alex Pagulayan, Chris Bartram, Jeff Ignazio, Rodney Morris, Raj Hundal, Ruben Batista, Jason Klatt, Francisco Bustamante, John Morra, Jeremy Sossei and Jayson Shaw. I think it's an interesting mix of players, some old, some new. For several of these guys it will be their first Bigfoot, but don't be surprised if you see some "upsets." These are all high quality players!

There almost assuredly will be some changes in this line-up (there always are) before we kick off on Jan. 23, and our alternates include Carlo Biado, Mika Immonen and Efren Reyes.

Is Jeff Ignazio the same as Jeffrey Ignacio who is on the list for turning stone?

Absolutely agree. After seeing his last performance at turning stone in September I'm a believer in Jayson Shaw possibly making a repeat next week and then making big noise at DCC.

I made an error in the field. All these players came in during the month of December and I had forgotten that one player contacted me on Nov. 20 and I promised him a spot. Mike Dechaine will be in the field and Jeremy is now the first alternate. Sorry for the mix-up, but I'm only human.

okay jay, that was your one alloted mistake.
Looking forward to another great event.

The guys to beat are usually Shane, Dennis, and Francisco at the Bigfoot. All three of them are there so there's nothing soft about this field. Needless to say, there are some very worthy challengers that will give these guys all they can handle.

The winner of the 2015 Bigfoot will be ... the fans. Bring it on!

I am looking forward to this years Derby. I am bringing some new blood, well if you call 88 "new blood":) He will really like the Bigfoot.
