2015 DCC Bigfoot tournament

I made an error in the field. All these players came in during the month of December and I had forgotten that one player contacted me on Nov. 20 and I promised him a spot. Mike Dechaine will be in the field and Jeremy is now the first alternate. Sorry for the mix-up, but I'm only human.

I was wondering about MD, he had mentioned on facebook that he was going to DCC.

Glad to see him in the field!

In was under the impression the Chinese 8ball thing was scheduled during the Derby but I see Alex P. and Dennis O. on both lists.

Well here we go again, sixteen great players playing on the Diamond 10' monster! Once again we will have a stellar field of players and that should produce many great matches in the Accu-Stats arena (ALL matches are live streamed and televised later in selected markets).

Here's the field as it stands now:

Shane Van Boening, Dennis Orcollo, Johnny Archer, Lee Vann Corteza, Nick Van Den Berg, Alex Pagulayan, Chris Bartram, Jeff Ignazio, Rodney Morris, Raj Hundal, Ruben Batista, Jason Klatt, Francisco Bustamante, John Morra, Jayson Shaw and Mike Dechaine. I think it's an interesting mix of players, some old, some new. For several of these guys it will be their first Bigfoot, but don't be surprised if you see some "upsets." These are all high quality players!

There almost assuredly will be some changes in this line-up (there always are) before we kick off on Jan. 23, and our alternates include Jeremy Sossei, Carlo Biado, Mika Immonen, Efren Reyes and Lee Brett.

I can't believe Earl isn't on that list. I know how much he loves those 10 footers.

I love the line up and IMO, This should be set up as the new Pro Pool Tour.12-16 rooms hold these tournaments. This is what pro pool should be 10 ball on 10 footers. What a great tour that could very easily pulled of with enough rooms and qualifiers to get in!!
I for one would pay for every stream and I know a lot more of you guys would as well.
Damn shame I don't have the cash flow to try to help make this happen because I think it'd fly
Best of luck to all and I can't wait to see SVB and Mike D in the finals. Lol

No doubt 10 ball with 9 ball rules produces some of the best pool to watch all year. As someone who plays a lot on a 10 ft table (albeit not a Diamond) I can say it really adds a lot to the game in all facets. No gimme outs on the Bigfoot.

There are two Chinese 8-Ball events, one that starts today and one that starts on Jan. 24.

Is it going to be call shot 10 ball this year?

I think it will still be 9 ball rules, wish it was 10 ball rules, cost me the match against Kiamco when i played the bigfoot 2 years ago, but works for both ways in the long run.

I heard at least 4 players after matches last year complain that it wasn't call shot rules. I would agree with them.

they knew the rules goinig into the tourney.
why complain after it's over?

10 ball with 9 ball rules will never be a perfect game. 10 ball rules make the game much more pure.

10-ball was played with "9-ball rules" for decades. Seemed pretty perfect back then. Especially for the back room green players.

I understand the reason for the WPA to change the rules in recent years (makes for a different game with different strategy), but let's not make "10-ball with 9-ball rules" some kind of "evil abomination" that wasn't around for a long time before the WPA.

Freddie <~~~ misses 10-ball

Oh, you just don't understand.

- Slop rules are much more exciting, and such excitement attracts zillions of fans.

- Luck evens out precisely in all matches, and the cream always rises to the top.

- Pros almost never slop in a ball anyway, so why worry?

- Slopped safeties outnumber slopped pots, so we shouldn't worry about the latter.

- Football involves quite a bit of luck.

Haha the latter part of the first statement made me laugh the most!

To hopefully change the future from mirroring the past? Is it really that hard to conceive?

i see nothing wrong with the game.
i don't think players should accept the invitation to play & than complain that the rules of the game caused them to be knocked out.

is that too hard to conceive?
