2023 World Cup of Pool (WCOP) 27June-2July, Spain (Winner $60K per team)

China vs Syria a reminder of just how senseless the saying "play the table, not the man" really is. Syria showed early in the match that they are very weak at kicking, and once China saw this, they made sure that Syria would have to kick over and over, favoring defensive play whenever the choice was close, and Syria lost virtually all of the safety battles.

Opponents must pay for their weaknesses, and if they are kind enough to identify those weaknesses for you, they make your job easier. China, despite failing to break and run even once. dominated this match.

Yes, play the table, but if you're not also playing the man (or team in this case), you're not giving yourself the maximum chance to win.

Very solid stuff from Vietnam vs Kuwait. They may not have been the seeded team, but they are a better team than Kuwait. They missed a few shots, though, and might need to turn it up a notch if they hope for a deep run.

I’ve been trying to navigate the Matchroom site to find what time play resumes today but can not find it. Anyone know?

Current match, Japan vs Italy, is the last of the day session.

Night session begins at 7:00 PM (1:00 PM Eastern) and the opening match has the USA playing. After that, there will be two Round of 16 matches to complete the night session.

Thank you, they must not be streaming it to YouTube, like they did the previous days

Japan, after an efficient start, limps home to victory. To me, they don't look like a contender for the title.

Shane and Sky looked good.
Probably a perfect first match for them to get into it.
Something to build upon for the tougher opponents to come.

Well, I guess we need to think about revoking your soothsayer license.
:ROFLMAO: I blame it on the tea leaves. That is why I am throwing them away

Finland was very weak this time but Mika and Petri been lil out of from lately. Too bad they were top 2 ranked(finland) before WCOP and Uski got 2nd after Spanish Open and not earlier..
Petri was looking petrified for most of match after number of shocking misses

That GOAT debate came down to grand slams/majors Serena 23 vs Steffi 22 (There were other criteria debated like level of competition during Serena's time was much tougher than Steffi)
Those in Serena camp say it is quantity 23. Those in Steffi camp say it is quality of her wins- Steffi had Grand slam wins more evenly across different surfaces so better all arounder. Also she won calender golden Slam.
I am with Steffi camp cos I am Steffi fan
Martina was as good as any woman.

Nice to see everyone having fun with it.
After their loss, it looked like Kaci walked out of the arena without Spahiu.
Besar had a bad day.
