2024 World Pool Championship

Some next level hubris here.

This is equivalent to the ole “if my high school coach didn’t hate me I’d have gone D1…”
Or...
"My daddy says I could go pro."

Which makes me want to gamble every time I hear it said.

Problem is i'm 100% serious, im a 0 fargo rating which is another system that I dont believe in, i cant believe everyone is using it....but yea I am serious

Let me ask you something about fargo, assume a guy (Jack) who played 2 major tournaments in his whole life and he won both of them, but never joined any other tournament for the next seven years.

Then another guy (Mike) who plays on every tournament that ever existed in these seven years and he get some 10th, 15th, 8th in some of these tournaments but never won one.

Which one of the above two guys will have higher fargo? It will have to be Mike right? because Fargo is about points and you gather points by how much entries you go to, even though Jack is better than Mike BY MILES but Fargo is a failure system which everybody for some reason love to use, so thats why I don't use or take into consideration fargo for anything.

You can literally have a better player somewhere who never played a tournament in his life, his fargo is zero who cares but he's better than your 800+ american player fargo who plays in 1000 tournaments.
If you are talking about the best player in the country being an introvert basement warrior he already exists....

I still think for US aspiring pros we need to take one mid-size, cheap cost of living city and just declare it a pool hub. Let four 21 year old Fargo 710's split rent. Get 15-20 of those players in the same city and create a scene where on any given Tuesday there are 10 Fargo 700-750 players at the pool hall getting work in against each other after their day jobs. Hobby/action players then know exactly where to go to have a good pool vacation and guaranteed action.

In the current setup a lot of 650+ players exist in a no-man's land unless they pump a bunch of money into travel/tournaments.

great post.. i've been saying the same thing, get together get better. the spaniards do it, the poles do it, snooker players have been doing it for decades..

have you locked horns with an 800 player? or even a 750? it's like running into a brick wall. even if you're in the 650 range, you're doomed, because it's not one guy, it's a gauntlet.
Miss a ball and know you lost 3 racks.

Miss 2 shota and sell out....you can't win.

Unless a player plays against a top pro...
They aren't going to understand.

:ROFLMAO:

yea but aside from the guys that beat alex and wu kun lin, they were known quantities.. this tournament really is tough from the first match, as expected with a top 128 field

I think his opponent snapped in 2 x 9's, one on the hill
Besides that his opponent Mustafa was fantastic, besides break was making all the long pots, he was fearless unfazed by Gorst. Gorst break wasn't working.
Really need shot clock on outside tables. One rack #3 took almost 20 minutes :ROFLMAO:

128 is good number for such open major. 64 would be better number at least half top 50 Fargo/800s and rest sub800 from 770 to 799
256 (like recent UK Open) is silly with too much dead wood - first few days just washout lots of whitewash, target practice for big boys

Dang is on fire. Running out about 2 -2.5 minutes per rack. Good stuff (y)
Biado up 2-0 and now Dang 4 in row leads 4-2 :ROFLMAO:

Talk about finding the gap. He played the 1 ball in the top right corner and came 2 rails to end where he did.

He had to masse just slightly and missed, but it was definitely makeable.

Look at how little Dechaine won
Tyler
Billy
Skylar

Im taking big events with international talent. The US has one player who is capable. What are we gonna have when SVB is a full time fisherman?
I still have faith in Skylar. He just needs that break through. If what I've read about Tyler's work ethic is true, then I doubt he'll ever be 'the guy'. ...Meaning the man plays/practices endlessly. If you are dedicating that much of your life to be proficient in something and you haven't notably progressed over the course of years, then you may have just hit that ceiling.

Please lets not give him any credit for finding that gap. He played with inside, with the hope of having the 2 in opposite corner. Only to hit the 8b hard, come off the long rail and settle into that spot.

I was being facetious

First time I see tigers fight live.
"Golden Tiger" Dang makes golden break on the hill to blackout "Black Tiger" Biado 9-5

Your understanding of Fargo is completely wrong. Zero “points” are awarded for participation (robustness is, but that does not determine the rating). I suggest you go to their site and read about it.
