This is a little video I put together of 24 power stroke shots potting the OB from the center of the table into the same pocket each time and moving the CB to all the pockets around the table.

A few of them are quite challenging...especially on my table which has a pretty slow nap cloth.

Let me know which shots you think are the hardest to make.

Nice editing mate and some good shots.

Loved the music :D

Wow!

Is there any way to save your videos to my local computer?

I have a DVD player in my pool room and would like to show some of your shots to a friend from your throw video.

And with this power shot video, it would be good to see a shot, hit pause, then try it on my table.

Great video Colin! Impressive shots.

The real question is how many total shots did you need to take for you to get those 24 on video? :)

Since you're an IPT player, i'm guessing 25 or 26. You either forgot to turn the video recorder on, or had to change tapes for those 1-2 shots. ;)

BB,
You can copy the video at this site:
http://keepvid.com/

Just paste the URL into the box, select Youtube and follow the directions.

The file will be a flash ( .flv ) I think. You may have to download a player to watch that. Directions on that site should help.

It took me a couple of sessions to get all the shots done. About 3 hours of video. Averages out at 8 minutes per shot....maybe 2 attemps per minute.

Some I got first shot, most took 3 or 4 attempts to get it right, but a few of them took me about 15 mins to half an hour.

Shots numbers 1, 5, 8, 9, 21 and 23 were very tough. Either very hard to repeat, requiring high accuracy and perfect spin and speed or requiring near to the limits in my power and the amount of spin required.

It's clearly more than one session: half way through he took off his pants. Thankfully the shirt stayed on throughout.

Well, I was going to watch it, but now that you've said that...

Nice shooting Colin, very impressive- I dont care how long it took you. :)

Gabber

Indeed.

Given enough time and tape, I imagine I could make these 24 shots too... but you'd probably actually see me age through the video.

Thanks Peter, Gabber and Fred and all who appreciated the video.

btw: I think many players in this forum could make all these shots, but some of the shots would test their patience as they did mine :D

Hopefully it opened up a few path ideas to some of the viewers. It certainly helped me to become more familiar with predicting some of these tougher power shots.

Getting the confidence to make some of these shots with a high percentage can make for some intimidating arsenal against an opponent. Of course it's best to play the simplist positional routes, but having options is a benefit.

Yup, I can make em all! Fun video, but I would not really call most of them "power-stroke" shots.

A better question would be -Can you make any of them at all?

I think some of those shots would actually be easier to make becuase of a slow cloth. When I'm down at the pool hall if I play on one of the slower tables I end up putting so much "juice" on the ball to get it around that it's doing things that are almost defying belief. When I get home though, or play on one of the fast tables down there the cloth doesn't grab so much early on in the shot so there's less "curvature" from the initial english? (Not sure if I explained that right)

Great shots though!! I liked the video quite a bit and I think I'll run through them at home.

The reports of my talent were an exaggeration!

Colin, this was almost inspirational!
I will have to practice. I'm normally a soft stroker. When shooting hard, my aim goes off in the bargain! Despite your assertion that many of us here can make these shots, I wouldn't be among them unless time were of no partiular concern.
It is great to see what can be done though. Wow.
