for a " Tune up" meaning I wont change your game, but try and enhance what you already have, 350$

for championship pool, well thats really priceless, and most certainly takes more than a "tune up" If you really want to get better, you need to learn what the pro's know..\

Im not going to lie to you, Its a hard long road.. dedication and will to succeed.. I cant teach you that, if your not really serious about the game, and arent willing to give 100% everytime you pick up your cue youd be wasting my time and yours..

Yes, Im kinda funny that way, I believe everyone can be a champion.

4 days, 1500$ No distractions, and you would be playing on the best equipment..

you want the best? you want the guy the pro's go to?

This is the PM he sent to me, afterwards I responded with this:

Intresting proposal, Yes I want to play on a championship level of play. I take the game very seriously and have a desire to succeed. However, do you have any credentials to speak of? Also where are you located? Just curious because you didnt give a name.

If only I had checked before I responded to him, Afterwards I did a search of all his previous posts, the guy seems to be more clueless than myself as to the art of billiards. So I just thought idiot and let it go. Later on I go and post in my thread again asking if anyone knows of Chan Whitt, one of my friends told me about him and recommended him. Then this fool pm's me with this.. rofl.

"My Name? Tim Carter you will be working with me and a fellow by the Name of Chan whitt..

Please, who the hell do you think your kidding? Or we're you just hoping someone would send your worthless ass 1500 dollars in advance for lessons?. Get a life you friggin loser.

maybe you really would be learning from chan whitt.dont send any money in advance.where are you located.

I live in Pearisburg VA , if thats the case I'll apologize in advance but I seriously doubt it. If you look at his prior posts hes asking questions an instructor certainly wouldnt ask.

I'll provide you with the same deal he offered, and if you buy me lunch after each lesson we'll call it even. Oh, and my instruction is regarded as world class by result, not because I advertise it as such.

Blackjack.. I honestly cant tell if your being serious or sarcastic, Although I do know you to be extremely knowledgable so its probablly true. I am curious though who have you worked with thats world class?

BlackJack

Black Jack

I dont know if that offer stands for anyone, but it sure sounds like a steal. I would at some point in my life love to get some instruction from you and shoot around. I am a big fan of your website, and you sound as if you would be enthusiastic and a great instructor. I have used some of your drills over the past 10 months and I have made a great deal of progress in my opinion. Just wanted to say thanks again for all your knowledge you keep available to people. It is always a pleasure to learn new things about the game of pool.

Well then.. blackjack you are located in FL? I may indeed be intrested in such lessons if your serious.

The Mental Game

I need to join the crowd writing books because I too truly understand the mental game. Here is the secret: The mental game requires two things and only two things, ego and confidence! Now as soon as I figure out how to fill the other three hundred and forty-nine and nine-tenth pages with largely fluff I will be ready to publish. :D :D :D

Although I have enver met BlackJack, I know people who have and trust me, if he's good enough for Ga Young Kim, he's good enough for you. Probably too good! LOL!

I'm writing a book too. How to do Vegas on $7 a day. Or maybe, learn to be a champion, or The inner game of Tennis, Wait, that ones already published. By the way, The inner game of tennis is an excellent source for learning. Just my opinion, Sam

In all seriousness, the inner game can be learned from books about anything that requires winning. All champions(let's say 99.9% to save argument) have many things in common. I even learned a bit from a real estate book by a super salesman that I read part of when I was bored many years ago.

The real breakthrough for me was when I realized that ego was not something to avoid but a necessity to provide a foundation for the mental game. Ego isn't the same as acting egotistical but realistically most of us are trying to beat everyone else. It takes an ego to believe you can do that. Without belief, you are doomed to almost certain failure before you start so ego is the cornerstone of the mental game. With ego you can have confidence and with ego and confidence you can build everything required to be a winner without wasting much time and energy fighting your own image of yourself.

When you mention ego & confidence, I think of Earl Strickland...

Even worse, I can't get that dumb song by Survivor out of my head.

This is why this board needs an active moderator.
1. JROSS - puts a message out saying he is looking for lessons in VA
2. 2wld4u- sends him a PM = private message offering him his services
3. JROSS - posts a message he receives in private on the public board and slags 2wild
4. JROSS then includes 2wild4u real name in the post

It doesn't matter if the prices offered you were too high or low, I think you crossed a line when you trashed a Private Message and displayed it on the public board and you gave out a name that wasn't really up to you do post.

Just my thoughts I don't want a flame war, I just think that we all need to show respect for each other, it's no different then slagging someone for selling a cue at a higher price, someone might want it and you've killed the deal.
peace

Strongly agreed.

In the AZB private message feature, Mike has given us a valuable tool for communicating with a single froum member when we feel it is appropriate. Anybody who publishes the contents of a private message to the public forum greatly devalues the private message feature of the forum. I hope all posters recognize that the contents of private messages is private, and that we show disrespect for each other when we violate that privacy.

The only time the contents of a private message should be shared with the forum is with the consent of the sender/recipient.

Services indeed, services of ripping me off perhaps? I've had several other PMS on the subject from people who actually knew what they were talking about. I would have never posted it had I not felt he was seriously trying to con me. Think of it as you will.. not like I'll care either way.

I have nothing to hide, yes I offered that joker instruction, Chan is the guy that would have done the teaching..

The article I wrote was vage for a reason... and at that point in my life I was really depressed.. so yeah its kinda out there..

Thats the only explainations I'll offer.. and therefore I retract my offer to you..

you have earned the right to get free lessons, I'll give you all the details, YOU better bring a bank... why else would you post a thread about me unless you wanted to challege me.. prove your point... accept my challenge..

Colin, you to buddy... and anyone else... first and foremost is the guy that started the thread.. I will not back down from such stupidity..
