Hi,

My name is Ray Grish and I have been friends with Rick for over 40 years. For the last 4 months I have been spending 3 days a week in the shop observing the art of cue making and making some dust by processing shaft wood on Rick's saw machine and also doing inserts and helping out during some coring of woods on the lathe.

I told Rick that I thought he should be building some less fancy players at a lower price point while he still produced his one off custom ordered cues. Since he agreed that there was a market to fill in this area he gave me the job of designing some cues and managing them and tasking his time to do this work.

Below are the first 3 cues I designed. 1 plane jane and 2 full splice blanks with inlays and nice trim rings. I selected the wood combos, wraps, inlays and the rings from a box of rings in the shop that Rick had made the billets for and this is the result.

In the future I will be bringing more of these in house project cues to the market as the broker for Esoteric.

Thanks for looking,

Ray Grish - AKA, Cue Monger Ray

Cue #1 - Full Splice w 2 shafts: Love the Pink Ivory Rings and inlays! I asked Rick where he got his pink ivory and he told me, "from pink elephants of coarse"! LOL!!!!

All three of these cues can be viewed with more pics and descriptions in the WFS section with Pricing including shipping and insurance CONUS:

Sorry the pics are not consistant. Boy, Taking Pics of Cue is not an easy thing. Just when you think you can do a good pic, the sun comes out from behind the cloud and it washes out the detail! Got some learning to do in this area too!

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words about these cues.

They would have never have built without Ray. He was at my side during all aspects of these builds including their designs from my ring box and inlay catalog inventory.

It is nice to have company in the shop 3 days a week, especially a friend of over forty years like Ray.

I wanted to comment on Rick's cues but your signature is extremely distracting and offensive to people who are working or based in China. If you have beef with John be clear it's against him, your signature suggest otherwise.

Looking real good! I love the way the wrap, inlays and rings work together on the first cue. Martin

Ray? I thought that was the Turtleman's buddy, Neal, from "Call of the Wild Man".

Just kidding. Nice looking cues.

Nice cues Rick & Ray.
Rick has really been making some good looking cues. Been to his shop numerous times and he's really dedicated to making high quality cues.:)

Thanks Eric,

These are very simple cues and as Rick pointed out you have to crawl before you walk and walk before you run.

BTW I have seen many of your cues for sale on the forum and I love your distinct style. Rick just pointed out to me that qbilder is the great builder of the Sugertree cues. I did not put that together

Thanks again for you nice comment concern my fist designs, those words coming from you means a lot,

Neil, I mean Ray. Lol
