3 year old shooting jump shots

I know some of you have seen the videos of Aiden when he was 2 years old shooting on the big table. After a long layoff of all things pool(6 months) he decided he wanted to pick up the jump cue last week. Well he did well with that and it seems it's given him a renewed interest in the game. It's amazing how I can see the progression he makes each time at the table. The first session he jumps A ball, second he jumps quite a few, and the third, well....

He asked me that if he made it could he sit on the rail and jump with with his bridge on his leg. Well I let him and hit a couple more. Didnt get video of those as I was holding him to make sure he didn't fall, but I'll try tomorrow. I know, the audio sucks.

Well, if a 3-year-old can do it, maybe jump shots are too easy and should be banned (per the other recent threads)!!!

... just kidding :grin-square:

Seriously, I think it's awesome you can share your love of pool with your son. It looks like you provide great encouragement and keep it fun for him.

Good job,
Dave

Was wondering who would be the first to make that remark. They should ban pocketing too because this kid was making balls when he was two. :-)

It's great to see father and son interact in this fashion.

It's pretty cool to see that at such a young age, the game can be taught and retained.

Looks like a future champ to me with a very proud and beaming dad.

High 5's to you both.

Thank you guys for the kind words. I have seen the other jump shot thread, and I can assure you that this is not easy for a child. He makes it seem easier than it really is, but that is all a testament to him. I have never seen a toddler try so damn hard before to get something right as he does in pool. The first night we did this he nailed one about 5 tries in and then spent half an hour straight attempting to just clear a ball. He failed, and was despondent to say the least. The next time he cleared balls about 1 out of every 3-4 attempts, and last night it was almost 1 to 2. But his desire to sit there and shoot it 60 times in a row is what blows me away. I didn't have focus like that at 3, much less now at 26. Thanks again for the words of encouragement, it will put a smile on his face.
