Well as most of you who tuned in know it was an epic battle and a long marathon, probably the longest that has ever been streamed between 2 players playing non stop. I am just getting up now after sleeping for 12 hours, probably could use more but its Monday and I have tons of things to mail out that have been sitting for too long, sorry to those people.
I have played with both of these players many times and watched them play but this was something else. We started just before noon on Saturday with Scott giving Ronn 11-4 for $2000, 7 ahead, Scott gets all the breaks and must alternate pockets each rack and if he makes a ball on the break which he did 6 or 7 times its a re-rack. I would say they played around 125-150 games of one pocket with Scott running 8-12 balls and out around 30-40 times.
I never have sat and sweated that much one pocket or a gambling match, Scott appreciated as did Ronn and were happy to have all of you guys tuning in, Ronn was amazed by it really and flattered. Scott said it was tougher to sweat 30 hours then play because time can just fly by as your playing, you lose track of time really. I got to a point where it did not matter that I had been up for 40 something hours and probably could have stayed up for another 40 as something just clicked and I saw that in Scott and Ronn too.
Ronn eats healthy and drinks plenty of Gatorade, Scott is 20 years younger then Ronn, Ronn is 53. I am not a coffee drinker so relied on Gatorade and a 5 hour energy to help me out and stayed away from beer the whole time until it was over and had one with Scott to celebrate.
Both players had there chances to win it, Scott after 8-9 hours was on the hill and Ronn battled back to even and then took off and was up 5 games, just 2 games away from winning it all, Scott would not return to the hill for 20 hours. Scott battled back and they see sawed each going to even and up 2 games or so before Scott started running some amazing outs which Ronn just could not believe nor could many people watching. Scott replied that it was one of the toughest matches he has ever played and both players did get to the point where they wanted it all to end but kept on going, you have to dig real deep to do that and have a ton of heart.
This week I will take the time and edit some of the video to show a good deal of 8-12 and outs by Scott and one of the best outs in one pocket being trapped by Ronn that was just amazing. I want to thank all of you who tuned in and kept me company, I think its something I will never forget and neither will many people. For them both to play as well as they did for being up that long was just incredible. Well gotta run and get caught up with life, be back soon. :thud:
