??????????

I've been here eight years and never heard anything about bumping a post too soon. This is just in the wanted/for sale section, or what??

Yes, it is only for the Wanted / For Sale Forum. At the top of that forum is a sticky thread started by Jerry Forsyth (an AzB owner) titled "Forum Rules." Rule 11 reads as follows: "11) Over-active bumping is not allowed. If most of the replies to your post are bumps that is overactive bumping. Anything more than a single bump in any 48-hour period is over-bumping."

I'm not sure if it's the same member but I did give a newish member a red rep a while back. There is more to it than just giving him a red for bumping the post too early though. As he was new I sent him a polite pm with a link to the rules and explained what he did was wrong and why. And as I stated I did it politely. He replied and apologized for not knowing the rules and everything was fine. Then less than an hour later he went ahead and bumped the post again so I sent him another polite pm and asked him if he was having difficulty understanding the rules to which he acted like a little kid and replied with all sorts of insults and profanity. He then again posted in his thread and I realized he really didn't give a shit if he followed the rules or not. It was at that point I red repped him.

So I'm curious Jim, what's the member's name?

Do you cruise craigslist just to flag certain adds you don't like? How did a new member bumping a thread affect you in a negative way?

Seriously? Did you actually read what I wrote or just make something up in your head as to what happened. Had you actually read what I wrote you may have ascertained that I was trying to help the new member by informing him of the rules before his threads were removed, which btw they were. Why? Because he bumped them too early. DUH! And that was what I was trying to explain to him before he decided he was above the rules. So I guess by your logic, I should have just let him do whatever he wanted and let all his threads get removed or worse, have him just get banned. It IS the users responsibility to know the rules before using the forum. And while he can claim ignorant the first time because he's new after the forth or fifth time it's just plain rude.

It's not how it effects me, it's how it effects everyone that uses the for sale section. Obviously you haven't considered how early bumping of threads effects all the other users. And obviously you didn't give any consideration to why the owners of this forum HAVE rules in place. Maybe in your world it's anarchy but in the real world we have rules and laws we are required to live by. Honestly, I'm pretty sick of some of the members here who just do as they please and think they are above the rules and then get pissed when someone calls them them out.

Well, I for one am just shocked at who it was that sent the red rep.

Never would have guessed that person would do such a thing.

Nope.

Shocked I tell ya.

Never coulda seen this one comin.

No sir.

I come on AZ every day but don't tend to post cause I just don't feel I have anything note worthy to add but I have to ask why is everyone allowed to give a red rep anyway. I can understand the green but from what I have seen most Red have been given mainly because someone just doesn't like what they have to say or not like them. Some will even give a RED when a person says the sky is blue. I would think that only the people over the forum should give the reds since they have the final say anyway.

Before I leave for physio therapy for another day of pain, please allow me to
Bump this thread to the top.

On a couple other forums I frequent all you are allowed to say in a for sale thread is "I'll take it". Questions and comments are via PM or email only.....

Thanks for the clarification:thumbup:

Let's make sure the story gets told correctly Monstermash...

I completely misunderstood the rules... my bad. Hell, I didn't even read them. I was under time constraints and just didnt look at the forum rules page. I will not make that mistake again. I can see how annoying this must be, given all the hoopla surrounding my ordeal. In my multiple posts I apologized for my negligence of this rule... once again not realizing I had violated the rules of bumping by posting again. Yes, I was an idiot, but it was not intentional.

Monstermash, you did send a PM just before you gave me a bad rep, and it went like this: "What part of do not bump a thread in less than 48hrs did you not understand?" It was this wonderful arrangement of your words that set me off a bit... and I did what anyone else would have done... I fired back. I can see I hit my mark by your butt-hurt reaction. I apologize now for doing that, and I hope we can move forward without any future low blows.

You are correct, I did send you that pm. What you have conveniently left out was the part where I politely informed you about the rules and then you went ahead and did what ever the hell you felt like anyway. meaning you went and bumped several posts within minutes of you responding to my pm where you apologized and claimed you didn't know the rules.

Consider this...

You get pulled over by the police because you were doing 50mph in a 30mph zone. When the cop gets to your window you act all surprised you just got pulled over because you didn't know the speed limit was 30mph. You apologize and the officer decides to let you go with a verbal warning. As you're pulling away you burn rubber and spit gravel all over the officer and his car and then speed away again breaking the speed limit. Do you think the officer is going to be pleased?

So in other words, when someone is nice enough to help you out and point you in the right direction, you don't spit in their face 5 minutes later. The first time you bumped you claimed it was a mistake because you didn't know the rules. After I explained them to you you just did what you wanted anyway. That's just pain RUDE. And that's what earned you the red rep, not necessarily the bump.

So stop crying to Jim acting like youre the victim here. Because you and I both know you're not.

And Jim, who is the chicken shit here? I find it funny that you just assume you know the story base on what a brand new member told you and didn't bother to send me a pm or respond to the one I sent you. You just thought it was ok to start this post. So stop trying to gain a customer by sticking up for him. You know that if he didn't by one of your cues this thread would never have happened.

I didn't convieniently leave out anything. I've admitted my negligence of the rules... more than once.

Jim asked me about my negative reputation because I was about to do business with him... I didnt "go cry" as you've stated. What you did has caused me a lot of grief through my first two transactions on AZ. If it hadn't been for Jim and Bruce asking questions, they may not have sold me anything. I appreciate their willingness to overlook my one and only mistake.

We have people who are Officially set up to watch over this forum . I do not think we need a wanabe cop to do this . I remember when I was young and thing went bad on the play ground , and the little tattletail went to the teacher . Most other would not associate with that person . I do not believe we need a tattletale or a self made cop . After I asked 2-3 times why the red , and he explained it and he also explained he did not know how to check , I believed him , and knowing your back performances , I still believe him .

I will not be following this , because I know you will carry this on for page after page .

I hope you know how I feel about tattletails . Jim

Of course you left parts out. How are people going to take your side if you actually told the truth?

This is Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it's fantastic when all the people who can't seem to follow the rules act like the one's trying to enfore them are the one's doing the wrong.

You and Kevin were the typical bullies on the playgroung right? And then when you were caught, it was you pointing the finger yelling "tattletale" acting like it was the one's you were bullying that were wrong!

Typlical pathological criminal behavior from two of AZ's finest! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! We all appreciate that you can't be courteous to your fellow members.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
