50/84 Instructional Video

OK. Here it is. Don't laugh too hard...... LOL

I always thought that video taping puts pressure on a person (me) But.... talking is a whole other story when it comes to extra pressure.

Good Job, Mike! I have done quite a few of these, and it is extremely difficult talk and shoot at the same time. I have one for you to look so you can get a few ideas - I'll send it to you in a PM. You do a great job working through a few tough racks, and you offer great advice in those tough situations. It's also good to know that I am not the only person that has used the word "smooshed" in a pool video.

Thanks

Thanks David. As soon as I seen that the first comment was from you, it put a smile on my face. Thanks so much for the PM.

Hi Mikey,

strong shooting- especially you well thoughts were excellent. Further i like it if someone plays tough racks and just make a new plan if something is not so running perfectly (how King James Rempe said in his "how to run 100" ).

A great run under hard conditions-it was easy to see, that the humidity was horrible high at that moment. in the last 2 racks i was sure that you are really coming into *stroke*- unfortunatley one position-error for the last breakshot,

hats off for a great run and for great comment running trhu it!!!

Mike: I downloaded it and put it on my ipad. I'll watch it on the train ride home tonight. Hopefully, it will help get me in the mood for my match tonight.

That was awesome! Do more, do more!

As a favor for us newbies, can you talk about what English you are putting in the break shots during the next vids?

I can't WAIT to see more! I love learning. And there is so much to this game.

Nice run Mike! You look comfortable, so I'm sure you'll be ready for next month's big tournament out East. I'll try to swing by tomorrow if I don't get stuck at work.

Nice work, Mike. I downloaded it at work yesterday but my itunes was acting up and I could not transfer it to my ipad, so I downloaded again last night around midnight after my matches and watched it on the way in today.

Good shooting and good explanations.

When you have a long shot, you do not hesitate. You get right down and drill. You did sound a little nervous at the end of the 50, but you shouldn't. The explanation was very concise and the execution was fine.

Like Melinda said, if you would add a little about what English on the break and why, it would help many of us. You could even talk about, for example, I can't use follow on this one because...; I am hitting just a half a tip below center because I do not want to draw into the kitchen..; Since my cue will be hitting the bottom of the ball in the rack.....

Anyway, very nicely done.

Dennis are you trying to kill me.........
How about one rack at a time to show different types of break shots with different types of English being use and running one rack at a time.
That would be a lot easier for me then to walk in there saying that I am going to run 50 and talk about all the shots....... Jim Rempe has a great video of one rack at a time, really good.
I think that it might help out Melinda and other players doing it that way and take a lot of pressure off me to run a ton of balls.
I am no Pro.
But I sure do like to help other players when I can. Enjoy helping.

I know. I'm getting greedy.

It was very well done. 50+, on command, while talking about it. Wow!

OK Dennis & Melinda, I gave it a try and I have another video. There is one problem...... I apologize, I got stuck in a cluster of balls after pocketing the 48 ball. I said it would be 50. I got stuck with two to go. What a Failure.... At least I did not miss or scratch to end the run.
The video came out really good in my opinion. I covered a few things that players might find interesting. It is a hard thing to do and i am sorry it was not 50. I think everyone will enjoy this video. Hope so.

PS: I can not down load this new video on Vimeo until Monday (they only let you do one per week).
Also, my table plays so much better at night. It is like a different table compared to the day time. We have had
over two weeks of 100+ degree weather down here.

Mikey,

it was a great vid- and a good run. Was easy to see that you really were fighting with the high-humidity. And is was for sure very helpful to show some guys how important it is, to create new plans during a rack in straight-pool.

keep it up with the good work my friend :)

Hey Mikey,

You can do more than one per week. It just all depends on how big the files are. Vimeo gives you 500mb upload per week. so if you out put the video at a different quality the final file size will be smaller. unfortunately the more the file gets compressed the more degraded the video becomes.

talk with dennis to see what formats work best !
