5th Annual Bob Stocks Memorial 9 Ball Open!!!

Oh, my little Ilir is a world-beater now. Go, Ilir!

That's a tough battle betweeen Eberle and Wilkie, but if I were betting and laying odds, it would be a "pick 'em."

Max over wilkie and I am out more play happening but got to go!

I left after Sigel beat Joey Arbuckle on the hill.
I know he is a legend and everything, but he (Sigel) is easily the slowest and chattiest player in the tournament!

Ilir and Pooky matched up in 1P last night and Ilir got him for $800, I think.

Great win over Brandon for Blackballed! Sounds like a very strong field! Sorry I couldn't make it.

Yeah, this field was super-strong IMO:

Brandon Shuff
Shaun Wilkie
Danny Bell
Tony Long
Ilir Jaho
Joey Arbuckle
Alan Duty
Manny Chau
Jimmy Endara
Ryan Jones
Brian Deska
Max Eberle
and of course, "The Mouth".

Man, Ilir has come a long way in his pool playing. I remember the first time I met him, he was so enthusiastic about pool. Sorry that Pooky lost, but it's nice to see Ilir realizing his pool dreams. :)

So who won this thing?

Ilir was playing some really good pool. Nothing fancy, just solid. Great tourney for him and he is playing real good, all day/ every day.

Poor Manny Chao! He was struggling the whole weekend. It was like every 3rd shot he took turned into a disaster. I bet he wanted to smash pool, more than once.

Max was his usual solid self. Gdam he plays good! I can't tell you how many combos he made with perfect shape on the next ball. Play him safe by sticking him on the end rail? OB better be on the other end rail, coz if he can shoot it in...well he will. I hope he won, but he angered me off by bidding me up in the calcutta, while we were warming up together. He coulda just asked me for 1/2 and he coulda got it...who's not going to trade 1/2s w ith that guy?!. He went for $300 and I for $30:wink::wink:

I had real good bracket position and feel like I didn't really do as well as I should have. I finished 9-12 and was beat by Tony Long and DANNYB78. Dannyb78 outplayed me from 4-4, put down a 2pk and then I got corner hooked on the final game. The next round for the winner of our match was to face Brian Deska (where's his Dad at?!)...Brian, Dannyb78 and I were the worst players left at that point, so I really wanted to be the one to face him. Dannyb78 gave me a kung-fu kick to the chest though. Brian beat him next. I played some good pool, especially since I have only been back playing for ~10days.

Joey Arbuckle- damn near beat Siegel. I was rootin for him from a couple of tables over and he was so close! Losing sucks, but he done good.

Siegel? His nickname is the Mouth. He only sharked me about 3x and I didn't even get to play him!

I will try to get some results in the future. I will also try to find out the tourney placings!

Thanks for the update. I appreciate you taking the time to share the info.

Hopefully, somebody will write an article about this and submit it to AzBilliards for the Main Page. It would be nice to know what the payouts were, for example.

Anyway, getting the winner's name is better than nothing. Thanks again for letting us know!

Wish you and Keither were there. Took some great photos and everybody had a great time!!

Brandon was talking about putting up a major report ( it think its worthy) on the main page but we'll see.

Ill have some photos posted up later

I really could have seen my self doing better.. But pool is pool. We dont always performe the way we should or the way we no we are capable of. I missed a 8-ball to go up 4-2 on Deska. Then I was up 5-4 and dry broke on the easiest breaking tables in the world. In the end I have to be content with my finish.
