Thanks Frank, i have been working hard but that's because I have REAL chance at making a dream come true; A real tour that current and future players can compete on without having to beg, borrow or ****** to play on. A tour that is self sustained by the pool playing community itself and not just someone else.
Turn a profit? If we succeed in building the product we intend on, something like golfs Web.com Tour I hope we can turn some kind of profit. Right now as Mark would say "We're just trying to figure out a way not to lose too much" The main goal is to build a self sustaining organization, one that can pay the bills and put on at least 6 national events a year without busting the pool players.
As for me playing, you're right to be surprised, I am too. I had no intentions of playing and when a room north of Boston (60 miles from me and about 90minutes around 5 6 pm) had only 7 players I filled the 8th spot for them, I would have much rather played at Snookers, 15 minutes from me. I checked with Mark and he thought it was okay and I thought it would be nice to be right in there to see how the players felt. At the NE regionals we had 12 players and 2 were going to qualify for nationals, didn't think I would be one and nobody at the tournament had objections to how things went, the regionals were awesome and we all had a good time with the format. Once I did qualify I offered to pay as much of the player fees for next session for all the players that came in last place at each of our rooms (cuz I know they all showed some heart and support) and that is what I'm going to try to do with any profits I make. Finally, I really didn't want to play because this means I cannot do commentary for at least the first 3 rounds of the event, something I really want to do because nobody knows all the ins outs and benifits of what we're doing as good as I do. So I asked Mark if I could or should withdraw but he didn't think it would be a good idea for us to be switching players after the fact.
I spent all this weekend sending invitation to rooms all the country (about 100!) and am really looking forward to the left coast becoming apart of this. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...53870714.1073741826.1351791311&type=1&theater
The founders are Mark Griffin, Don Owen and myself. We are very lucky to have two guys like Mark and Don that are willing to risk money to build something they believe will be good for the sport.

BEsides, it is for non-handicapped people. Read the thread.

LOL Joe first off thanks for the great response... I was hoping it didnt come off very as a bad question and post. I really do wish it all the success in the world.
You are a stand up guy and handled the situation IMO better than almost any other person would have.
Its a testament to your game that you can win while trying to run an event and THINK about everything going on.
Congrats and good luck to you and all the other players..
PS-- I am not sure why better than average guys don't play in organized pool because if you ask them I bet 90% played some type of organized sport going up. Hopefully this will break the barrier.
