It was a potting test, not a position play test. The outside also produces throw which makes the OB go in cleaner.I think it was fine.
I set up 1/2 tip inside and pivoted to center. The first shot went center pocket, I think and as I moved down the table the ob went to the fatter side of the pocket. I'd have to do it again to see exactly where, but probably the third shot hit the facing before going in. I didn't like pivoting to outside because it put a ton of english on the cb.
I think you mean "reduces"?It was a potting test, not a position play test. The outside also produces throw which makes the OB go in cleaner.
I'll write a thesis paper on where my hand was. In the meantime it looks like my pivots are OK. We'll find out more when I get back to it.The way I/you had the donuts set up with exactly the same measurements from the edge of the rail on a 9' table, there was no way you could have had problems setting your bridge hand for the shots because on those first three along the side rail the hand was positioned ON THE RAIL which was very comfortable. Trying to put the bridge hand between the rail and CB would have required a dwarf's hand and an elevated cue.
I'm just trying to follow instructions. Pivot to center on each donut hole and report what happens. On the one's you said didn't go in cleanly but still went in with an inside start pivoted to center, you probably needed 1/16"
more of a pivot to center.
Where did pivoting to center on a "donut hole" come into play or the instructions? You're doing thisI'm just trying to follow instructions. Pivot to center on each donut hole and report what happens.
You know what I mean. Put the balls on donut holes and do a half tip pivot to center on each shot and see what happens. If my objective is to get the ob to hit center pocket then that's fine but that wasn't yet in my instructions.Where did pivoting to center on a "donut hole" come into play or the instructions? You're doing this
on purpose, aren't you?
YO, Cookie...If the above is the belief of DW and PJ, they both think they're SUPERMAN!Truth, Justice and the American Way.
Well that's kind of where the saying comes from so...YO, Cookie...If the above is the belief of DW and PJ, they both think they're SUPERMAN!
I rarely know what you mean because I have no idea what you really know. Based on most of it, between not much and dead wrong. You know what I mean.
Objective was to make the OB go into the pocket based on correct performance of instructions. From inside pivoting to center there are two possible parts of the tip that could be there.Put the balls on donut holes and do a half tip pivot to center on each shot and see what happens. If my objective is to get the ob to hit center pocket then that's fine but that wasn't yet in my instructions.
Uhhh, that's kind of why I posted it.Well that's kind of where the saying comes from so...
See, when I make a joke implying I am Superman and then you come along and make a joke saying I think I'm Superman it kind of loses its humor the second time around. I think most people over the age of 40 got it the first time.Uhhh, that's kind of why I posted it.
Maybe Dan and PJ should play a match, winner gets to Superman for a year.YO, Cookie...If the above is the belief of DW and PJ, they both think they're SUPERMAN!
Glad that you might think I'm 28. (wish I was again)See, when I make a joke implying I am Superman and then you come along and make a joke saying I think I'm Superman it kind of loses its humor the second time around. I think most people over the age of 40 got it the first time.

Damn, I've been putting them in my right pocket this whole time.![]()
Boogie I fully disagree. It is precisely on the critical shots that you would want the certainty that you get with an accurate aiming system.IMO that's why you don't want to be thinking about aiming systems, except maybe at the practice table. 3-4 shots in a race requires your mind power to be dedicated to more important things, like strategy, 2 way shots and shape. The sooner you master however you aim and can offload it from consciousness, the better you'll do. No knocks on aiming systems, but if you have to think of aiming systems it means you need more time at the practice table. Sure, you can't know all the shots, so they can be a nice backup, but in an ideal world you will look at all shots and know them intimately.
Shot making is an athletic endeavor. It's the one of the few reasons pool is considered a sport. Just like hitting a teammate's glove in baseball. Gotta know where you're throwing and play catch enough until it becomes automatic.
That said, if I'm in a situation desperate enough to warrant thinking about aiming systems, it's probably a good idea to consider safety play as an option. With strong safety play you shoot mainly ducks anyway. Let the cowboys try the desperation shots, I'll get them with the percentages in the end. If they can out shoot my safety play, they deserved to win anyway.
I think an aiming system's "accuracy" is a measure of its fit with the player, not an objective quality. The more it suits you the better you play with it....the certainty that you get with an accurate aiming system.
Or the more you learn to use it which suits your eyes and understanding, the better you play with it.I think an aiming system's "accuracy" is a measure of its fit with the player, not an objective quality. The more it suits you the better you play with it.

Well, given that people are generally a product of a unique blend of life experiences, pyschological state and physical ability then yes how accurate any aiming system is for any given individual can vary.I think an aiming system's "accuracy" is a measure of its fit with the player, not an objective quality. The more it suits you the better you play with it.

Is this another attempt at humor? If so you really suck at humor.Should be Barnum not Barton.
