Thanks for watching them, please feel free to comment here or youtube.

I think I would have shot the one ball into the 6 ball to break them out and leave the cue ball at the end rail for no shot on the stripes. You are trying to run the balls with almost zero way to do that. Your balls on the table are like "pawns", according to one book, and should be left in case your opponent leaves you with a safety. Just my opinion.

Good on you for posting. Most people aren't brave enough, I'm certainly not posting any of my games, so I'll give you that. Secondly, this looked a lot like some of my shooting. I've gotten better at being a "smart player", but still struggle a lot with being too aggressive.

You made some good shots, but I would definitely try to add in some advice. Maybe point out the ways that you would have played safe, some hindsight on where you went wrong, or even (which might be the best idea, and is something I haven't seen anyone else do), play a safe when you should, but then reset the balls to where they were before the safe (shouldn't be hard since you're recording... you can pause the video, setup the balls, then start recording again so you have the video to make sure you set the balls correctly) and then play out the rack showing how you MIGHT be able to get out, but that there are risks along the way.

Earl did that so he would not hear others put on chalk? Amazing. I was curious. Thought it was the crowd noises.

Thanks for your kind words.

...I know you've been around the pool scene...you don't know me..but so have I.
....that's how friends kid each other...I wouldn't say it to a beginner.

..but if it gets any louder, I'm sending a noise inspector around...

:D

Hidden in there is good advice.

If the chalk squeaks when you use it, you probably are not getting chalk on the tip. You are just going through the motions without useful effect.

In general, players who wear the standard hole drilled down into the center of the chalk don't know how to chalk in that they don't get a smooth layer of chalk all over the tip and especially on the sides of the tip. I say that those poor souls are members of the Borer Tribe. Membership is an honor you should avoid.

The used chalk at major tournaments does not look like the chalk at the typical Borer pool hall. This is a clue.

Thanks for those of you who left replies.

I haven't played much in the past several months, and when I do play, I play one hole.

There are some other videos up there on that site, and a pretty funny anesthesia video too.
