A free cue give away!!!from cornerstone

Bill

You want a touching story here is one.

I play on a APA league. The team co captain and her friend were sitting near by when I was shooting during the last summer session (2007). They were getting very loud with their talking and laughing. I was getting ready to shoot and the noise was really getting to me. I looked at them and said in a harsh voice could you please keep it down while I am shooting. They looked at me and said they were sorry and didn't realize that they were so loud.

After my match the co captain said that they were just trying to have a good time as the other girl, Jennifer, was starting kemo the next day.

This lady, Jennifer had beaten breast cancer and now has colon cancer. She is in her late 20's.

She is now on our team as a 2. We play on Monday and that is the same day she gets her Kemo. I don't know how she does it. She shows up with a smile and never cries to anyone about her situation. She still works and puts in 8 to 10 hours a day. She says she needs to do that to keep her mind occupied. She wasn't supposed to survive past last Christmas. She kept doing the kemo and things were going pretty good. About 2 months ago things turned for the worst and the end is now getting closer. She decided to quit doing the kemo because of the effects and no improvement. Her spirits are down and she sees no hope for things to get better. Her boyfriend, God bless him, recently married her so he could become the father to her present children. He also now plays on our team as a 3. They basically play for a night out and to do something they enjoy.

This is all true and if you have the time all you have to do is drive down I75 to see them tomorrow night, Monday July 14 at Rack and Roll Billiards on Sibley Road by Fort Street in Riverview Mi. I think they will be there but not sure as one of our team members let her and her husband use his Florida condo for the last week and I don't know if they will be back.

I never really paid much attention but I don't think they have their own cue stick. Neither have the money because of the medical expenses.

Being fairly close this would also give you the chance to have the pleasure of meeting and prensenting the cue to a deserving couple.

Book,
Would they take a Mooch?
I have one that I would gladly send out. Email their addy Napiers@aafes.com

I am sure anyone would take a Mooch. The 3 best players on my Tue night league use them. All of them are break and run players. For some reason Mooches don't get respect. Thanks for the offer.

If Bill finds someone else that is more worthy or deserving I will get back to you and we could discuss it.

Thanks
Ed

well today shipped 4 cues and every one got new mcdermotts!!!! just a thank you for all those out there! they will have lifetime warrentys hope they enjoy them! and God provided the buisness, that provided the gifts that we sent!when one is blessed he should also bless others and a thank you for all who helped find those in need!! I think we are going to do this more often ! it really brings light to a place where people dwell! there has been soo much bad threads of people cheating and stuff so I loved to see people like Ky and poohkiller come forth!!!! and all those who thought of others!!!

We would never have such a chance to come forth if you hadn't came out with this extremely kind idea and hadn't turned it into reality.

It is a great feeling even here, thousands of miles away, to know that at this very moment there are players out there with a smile on their face and a brand new cue in their hands.

I wish them all to have a great time playing with their new cues and hope they'll have the chance of shooting those balls for many-many years.

One last line: Bill, please remember and count on me whenever you continue this great project as I hope I can be at more help next time.

Bill,

I've been out of the country for awhile and not had much time to visit the forum...

Today I ran across 2 threads that stick in my mind...the first was about how we should kill all the hate threads and how AZmods weren't looking after the forum as they should....it was a real ugly thread to be honest....

Then....I run across this one...And WOW... It's really nice to see a positive light....I Love this idea...

We may not have something as nice as a new cue to offer but I sure would like to participate....If you send me the address's to those who received cues, I'll send out a nice package of chalk holders....
