A great story about...

OMG, I think I know that guy. For those who went to Orange Ball in Rockville, he shot in some of the weekly tournaments there. We just called him "Rob," but he was a decent shot.

By his own admission, he did have a substance abuse problem. :frown:

Sometimes, it seems like I've known at least a dozen guys like him...*grin*

I know what you mean. :grin-square:

There was this player named Rob who used to come to Rockville to play. He had a little larceny in him for sure, and he was a courier. What he couriered, though, was something I wouldn't want to be near, if you catch my drift.

And Mr Burns owned one of the Arlington rooms we used to frequent, 'Cue 'n' Chalk'...plus he was the soccer coach for my little bro's youth team...I ASSume Thad was also on that theam.

Ted was a very cool guy, IMO. Hope he is still good.

Well worth the time..

It was a long read ,but very entertaining none the less, If you ever find out what became of the Robs , be sure to share what you've learned with us.. ;)

Thanks, neat read! I used to play Crackhead Rob fairly often. He was a little better than me, but not really local champion or shortstop speed.

The "Buck" in the story sounds a lot like the Buck (Paul), but the real Buck doesn't have a huge pot-belly or even much of one at all, and wasn't a bus driver.

It's probably been 5+ years since I've seen Rob. One of the last times I saw him, he told me how he had found a bar around Columbia Heights were he could always get cheap action. I clearly remember him explaining how he was always sure not to bet too high or win too much so that he could keep the action going. And he wouldn't tell me where the bar was.
