Yeah Jennifer (Miss Plastic herself ) Barretta asked him that out of nowhere on a TAR stream. Classless absolutely classless.Yes, that is my response! What you and many others are failing to see is that no one is really doubting Mike's ability! Mike is awesome!!!!!! I will be the first to say that! He did some shots on my table that I thought were humanly impossible! That being said, I'm not talking about his performance on the table, his record speaks for itself! BUT,,,, his attitude also speaks for itself!!
I understand everyone's point, but if people think he can come on az and write a few words and that is supposed to make it all better,,,, I don't think so!
Please understand, I want him to succeed, but be a true champion! Didn't somebody ask him how did he feel to be the most loathed player??? Do you think there was something to that question?
If I could play God for a moment, I would take Mike dechaines ability and take Tommy dalfonso's personality and put them together! And what would I get top 5 player in the world, hands down!
Now, the burger king thing, I'm sorry about that,,,, they make more moneyit's sad this sport is in the state that it's in, this is why most of the players are practically homeless! Unless your lucky like some pros to be sponsored and have someone pay for room and board, unfortunately, this is the life they choose!
I've seen much more "classless" out of MD, so the point being,,,, even though it was a classless thing to do, there was a point to it all! If the question was asked to svb, it would be pointless! But not at MD!
It's tough for people to forget about yesterday! Guess what?? Yesterday has caught up with MD! And now he's paying the price! Do I believe he should be on the mosconi cup?? Even with lose ratio,,,, YES I DO!! But based on the plan that Mark wants to take the Mosconi Cup, no, MD is out! But Mark is already in training mode with MD! The question will be will MD be able pass the test? My opinion, 60/40 he does! Very tough for him because of his inner demons! The greatest match MD will face won't be SVB, or orcollo, or anyone for that matter, it will be with person in the mirror!

In a recent tournament Mike and Earl Strickland matched up and everyone was rooting for Earl. Mike didn't like it and started fighting with the audience. Near breakdown. Earl won that match, but Mike won the tournament.
In another tournament Mike matched up against Mika Immonen and the same thing happened. Mike was an arrogant jerk and everyone rooted for Mika. Mike won that match (finals).
Mike seems to have more of a desperation to win than a love for the game. But the same can be said for most anyone who might have so much riding on winning.
I don't know Mike personally. He's probably fine when he isn't under pressure to win. Stress can turn anyone into a monster. It's my biggest reason for not caring about winning as much as the game itself. It's only a game to me.

and if so, were you there to see it?
I watched the last half of that match and wasn't seeing what you are describing.

How much ya wanna bet that each and every indiscretion like this won't somehow get back to Mark.
If he is going to be a Dick to his opponents and people watching, how much will he change before next years Mosconi Cup.
Now, with the stories coming out, I would bet Zero.

If you want to pick apart Mike's letter, maybe read between the lines for Conspiracy Theory sake, lets do that.
Lets suppose that in reality, Mike doesn't give a darn about any AZ members opinions.
That would seem likely and a definite possibility.
Maybe he wrote it in disguise to make it look like he was reaching out to AZ members, and his Fan base, but in reality, it was a Hope and Prayer that Mark Wilson would read it or he would catch wind of it.

I wonder if any of you talking dirt could beat this man with the 5 out. Sad what this forum has become.
I received a PM from Mike a few days ago with a very sincere apology and a show of support for Mark Wilson and the entire Mosconi Cup team. He showed no rancor whatsoever about not being chosen. Rather making a commitment to behaving in a more professional manner and being a better player at the same time.
I was very moved by this personal contact and applaud Mike for reaching out to me. I truly wish him the best this year and moving forward. I for one would like to see another "Shane strong" player here in the USA. Mike is the logical choice if he follows through on what he told me. Good luck Mike, I know you can do it!
or maybe, Mark Wilson really wants MD for Mosconi - but needs him to clean it up ASAP....
or maybe, MatchRoom wants continuous Mosconi publicity from now till DEC....
or maybe, MD's learning the lesson that all promoters are trying to send to certain players....

I had a conversation with Mike a yr ago. My words to him were lose the sh'tty attitude and put the proper time into the game and put svb into 2nd place! I was saying this as encouragement, but his fat headed smug attitude told me he still wasn't ready!
Wondering if his head deflated? Time will tell! Johnny Archer told me because of his attitude people are not going to be inviting him tournaments. I told this to Mike, if I remember correctly his comment was "archer doesn't know what fu@k he's talking about"!
