A none murdered animal cue please.

Don't you guys realize that they kill animals to make these cues....

They kill elephants to make your precious ivory cues... elephants are the most peaceful animals on this planet... they are herbivores and they don't harm other species... and yet humans kill them to make cues that could be made even more beautiful with out having to kill a utopia animal like an elephant.

Does no one care about this at all?

Poor elephants...

very sad.

Dude, what are you smoking, it is currently impossible to buy a cue or its components with out the death of living creatures.

You need to play with a Mopp or a Broom, woops, they also have animal components!!!

I have it take up pocket pool that way as long as you do not get to worked up nothing will die!!!!!!!

Oh and by the way, in an emergency Vegans are on the Menue:eek:  :D !!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, i tried to edit the tittle of the thread but it didn't work, im sorry the tittle can't be changed..

it is stated as reconditioned ivory, that generally means it is real ivory but reused, perhaps from old piano keys or something else similar, also in regards to lepro tips, they are leather, true cow hide, the proccess in which they are tanned (converted from bloody cow skin into leather) is by use of vegitable oil.

Whoa! 8 pages in 2 and a half hours over cues without ivories? You guys need to relax. So he made a mistake in his choice of words, what's the big deal? He's foreign and he already said it wasn't his intention to sound like that.

I don't guess any of you ever gave it a thought that this person (seb9) could be NOT who/what he pretends to be ?

some of you haven't been around long enough to remember some trolls who have pretended on AZ before...

one that comes to mind was a yoyo that called himself Turquoise Crazy/ Red Hot Peter and a few other names....his M. O. was acting like he was naive and dumb and then stirring up trouble....

No i assure you that my intentions were honest, i have explained my self, read the thread in detail it's all there.

Do you eat chicken? Pork?

So finally we arrive at the real problem: not enough white meat on an elephant -- except for the ears, and who wants to eat those? The rest is not that bad as long as you don't over-cook it.

Bob <-- pass the bar-B-Q sauce

They are kinda thin and floppy, like a borrito/fajita shell... oh wait a minute. That gives me an idea...

I have not been able to find a McDermott cue that isn't made with dead animals which is a shame because these cues could be made with out it...

And they have some beautiful designs.
I have a McDermott that has no dead animals in it...LOLz...my personal player has one ivory ferrule that's made from ivory that is around 40 years old...

Just realized. My wrap comes from cow, my tip from boar, my inlays and joint from elephant.

I think my next cue will be all animal, no wood at all... perhaps bone.

My cue has ivory in it. Ivory Joint, Ivory diamonds in the points and Ivory diamonds in the butt.

Do I care about Elephants? No, not really. Do I own an elephant? No (well part of one if you count the ivory in my cue LOL) Do I live in a part of town that is shared with wild elephants? No.

I can see where you are coming from. Elephants are innocent creatures kthat are killed for their tusks. So are chinchillas, killed for there fur, so are cows, killed for leather. Same with baby cows, killed for veal, a luxury.

Its the nature of the world. I deal with it and take advantage of it. I think a fur coat looks great on my wife. I think Ivory looks great on my cue and I think veal looks good on my plate.

Heath <------ knows he is gonna be called the bad gUy here, but doesnt care, owns a beautiful cue.

You are such a BAD guy...:D :D

I also have ivory on my cue. By the way, your new cue is absolutely beautiful!

I shudder to think how long it'd take to over-cook an elephant!!:(

But it's been established in this thread that they are either recon ivory or mock ivory.

TAP TAP TAP

Well said sir, that’s the nice thing about being at the top of the food chain.

As for the person who started this thread I truly hope you are a vegan, because if you have ever had a hamburger, eaten an egg, or worn a leather jacket you’re a hypocrite. If you are truly a vegetarian type person I feel sorry for you, but understand that you are entitled to your opinion.

What’s the big deal?!? There are massive amounts of LEGEAL ivory in the states today. The animals that had to dye for us to have there ivory in our cues or in our pianos are long dead and it would be a shame to let the ivory go to waste.

Seb9 I bet you believe in global warming to don’t ya??

Thanks Richard, as is yours man. Email me some pics of yours, I would like to see it again.

I gotta take some better shots of mine, maybe I will do that this weekend and send them over to you.

Capone does some great work doesn't he?

How about glue in construction from hoofs, etc.?

How about glue in construction from hoofs, etc.? I suspect most are synthetic epoxy or similar
compounds.

Not too long ago, relatively speaking, many billiard balls were made of ivory as well. In fact we
can credit the invention of plastic partly from a search for a replacement material. It seems
without the use of ivory for billiard balls, pool as we know of it might never have existed.
I've never used clay balls, but I doubt I would enjoy them.

And to the original poster, please don't get too caught up in trying to defend your intentions.
I truly believe you had no intention of offending anyone. Welcome to the board.
