A record worth (BIG$) trying to break!

I played a Korean pro 6 sets (he went to 40 and I to 20)
and...ow:

Day one:
40-12
36-20
40-8
38-20

Day 2:
40-5
40-5
3 cushion, 4 ball, other? Their API is ridiculous.
You did well. I finally got him, crushed him 24-49, he goes to 50.
I bought many lunches, dinners, bubble teas and pork kimchi. I was around a few players so I can curse in English, Italian, Korean, Svenska, Dutch/German.
Billiard players are top notch people in my book.

We were playing 3c.

Sets were for the time and I kind of out-bet him on day 1, I was already down 2-1 at the end of the 3rd set, so he didn't stand to win anything by playing a 4th set.

He took revenge on day 2.

I think I disagree.

The game is superbly simple and difficult.
If they allow unlimited attempts over a period of days similar to the 14.1 events I stand firm with my estimation. If it was only during completion that would be another aspect altogether. Just think of how many attempts per day a top notch carom player could actually try. Compared to running 600 or 700 plus balls the carom record is far more achievable.. IMO!

In tournament play, (2) 16's, one against George Ashby in 85 at the Chicago Billiard Cafe and one against, Martin Spoormans in 90 at an international event held by Abel Calderon in NYC. Spoormans was a Top Belgian player.

In an exhibition game during a tournament in 83 I ran a 24 in a 50 point match at State & Madison Billiards in Rockford, ,IL.

During the years I spent playing at Chris's Billiards in Chicago, I ran at least 15 - 22 on each of the five 3C tables they have.

BTW, the 22 run was in a game against my mentor, Ernie Presto on an 'Old Brunswick' 3C table. It was a 50 point game, in the same inning I ran the 22, he ran an 11, 33 points in a single inning!

Que, what would "You" estimate a run of 30 in 3 cushion is to in straight pool?

Keep in my, before you answer. On a pool table you have 6 scoring pockets, 1-15 OB's to contact of your choice every time at the table.

30 is like 400

I get it, but the amount of actual available options to play the game right is usually far less than what you've outlined above. The actual number of possibilities in 14.1 is much less.

Only when you get down to the last 4 or 5 balls!

Eric, I'd say more like 600 and up! That's because 99-100% of 3C tables are pretty much the same speed, cushions, balls, heated, cloth maybe 2 versions that are used these days. Not like in pool, ALL these different size pockets, and just the huge difference between, GC and a Diamond.

In 3C, we try to control ALL 3 balls 65-80% of the time. We have a 'minimum' to achieve to score a point, of 3 combined rails before scoring. Only 3 options to contact in order to score, red ball, OP's ball and a 1 of 4 cushions first.

That’s possible. You know more than I do, so I’ll defer to you and go with 600. It’s a ton in any case. Hope you have been good.

Best
Eric

It has been, in, 'Practice' game from a 20 year old Korean player!

Here's the vid.
That was a great run to watch. When I watched a year or so back I didn't realize it was not in a tournament play.

I suppose he is one of the Koreans who are impacted/part of that whole UMB v Korean rift and he won't be in Vegas in March?! Bummer.

In the recent UMB World Championships, there were six Koreans entered and two of them finished in the top 10.
