Ken you are getting old, it is not an option, acting old is an option.

One need not Gamble to have fun playing pool.

Gambling is optional.

I don't play good enough to gamble, but I will try if I get the right spot.

I also like to place a sweat bet quite a bit.

My excuse

One word reason why I don't gamble: job

It prolly sounds stupid, but because I work 8-5, I shouldn't stay out late gambling. I can't get in a game and then quit winner cuz it's "time for me to go to bed" nor do I want to chase my money all night cuz "I need to get some sleep." But, I love my job (it allows me to play pool) so I am not complaining - it's just my excuse. ;)

Used to gamble on football games and the ponies. When I was a drinker I would play for drinks on a bar table even though I didn't know anything about pool. Just got tired of bending my elbow and used pool as a break. One day I realized that my anger at losing had surpassed my happiness at winning. Only made sense to stop all gambling. Shortly thereafter I stopped smoking and drinking. THEN at 60 I discovered pool and after seeing all the young roadies traveling under the radar have been thankful that I no longer gamble. Amazing how many people over rate their game.

Well I did a little gambling on the Penny Slots on my way home from my fishing trip last weeks, and came home with some extra GREEN. It is a great feeling to see a $.30 bet turn into over a hundred bucks.

I don't gamble at all. I suppose it's the pragmastist in me. I feel the risk of losing money isn't worth the return of winning it. If I were asked to gamble $100 on a set, I would feel it's not worth losing $100 that I could be saving or spending on something else.

I'm also a very compulsive personality and I'm wary of addictive activities like gambling.

I do not gamble on pool

Well, I do when I am in Vegas but just a little. I think for me it is all the woofing, asking for a spot, sharking it really is all dishonorable. Oh, I have played for money in the past but I play real serious when I do and people have not been happy. In fact, I have had people get in my face and threaten me over 20 or 50 bucks c'mon that isn't even real money and not worth my time. Really, I play because I love the game.

I like the Penny Slots, as were else do you get served a Cold Beer, and get to put your feet up with the chance to win 100,000 Pennies.

Plus a Slot never get mad when you win, want to quit, or want to walk away when you are ahead.

gambling

Man your not going to take $$$ ouy of pool!!! as also golf, and many more sports, it is just a way of life for some ,as you say you do some in casinos, we most do gamble on anything!!i bet you my social security check im right!!as pete rose?? and it has never affected my game, fact it makes me try harder!!!:grin-square: :grin-square: :grin-square:

I can't play pool any more so I bet the dogs about 14 hours a day 7 days a week. I bet about 10-15 tracks a day, maybe 2-5 races a track. Average bet a race is $48. I have 4 computer lined up to follow on one side of my desk. I do well, but it's a job, not a hobby. Johnnyt
