Action in Mobile, Alabama

The big bar Box tournament in Breakers in Mobile starts today.Last night`s ring game was won by James Barracks. Second place went to Jeremy Jones( double J) Other players included were:Shanon Daulton,HillBilly, james walden,Grady,Tony watson,Blanda,Lil john.,cliff Joyner.I forgot few other names.Prize money was good.IRS may be reading the AZB.I am not disclosing the amount.Auctioning of the players started around 8:15 PM.I felt sleepy, could not stomach the very loud Rap music and clouds of smoke and went back to the hotel and missed the whole thing.Around 4:30 AM I went back to the tournament site.Action was going on 3 or 4 tables and loud Rap music still going on.Waitreses were still working hard to make the customers happy. The owners of the place were nice.It is a nice pool room.Their Diamond tables are good.

First of all the IRS is NOT reading this forum and secondly they could not DO anything based on anything posted on this forum.

years ago one pro player posted on CCB or here urging the fellow pool players not to post info on his winnings in the evening hour games as IRS may cause trouble to him.
When FBI raided Johnston City Pool Jomboree more than 35 years ago it was based on one player saying something about aon meygame in the Media when the feds felt that there was viloation of Laws on Interstate Commerce.Minnesota Fats was one of the arrested but released.
I am not a Lawyer but I just wanted to be nice to other pool players.

Amazing how you can know that they don't read this forum. They can, will, and DO initiate investigations based on information they read in pool, poker, sportsbetting, etc forums. This forum is no different than an anon email, tip line, or any other means of communication where they believe that there may be credible information.

Are u expecting me to come there and bring u here?
I don't think you know me well enough to drive eight hours, and I wouldn't let you do that anyway. I was seeing if anyone in Columbus wanted to ride over, but no one is awake at this hour lol

Thank u,I now feel relieved. :D

Might be ...

a money matchup with Walden and Daulton. James told me here
that Daulton's backer would not put Shannon up against him when
he was in Kentucky. It will be interesting to see if they get matched
up this time. I would love to watch that one!!!

Why doesn't Daulton play more Pro tournaments than he does anymore?

This just in...

We just got a phone call from a friend in Mobile. The first rounds of the tournament is going to begin shortly.

What a great feat for the tournament organizers to draw a FULL FIELD of 128 players with no buys. A calcutta was held, and Dave Matlock went for the highest bid.

Nice to see Little John win $3,000 coming in third place in the ring game. It cost $2,000 a man to get in. Jamie Barracks made a nice score for first place in the ring game: $13,000.

Hope to read more from those in attendance. The caliber of players is phenomenal down there in Mobile. Can't wait to see who wins this one!

I talked to him this week and he was looking forward to this tournament. He is about to rededicate himself to playing more and getting back to the top of his game. Hopefully he will be in top form form for DCC. That's his favorite venue and he has enjoyed great success ther over the years. For about the last couple of years he has been focusing more on family matters and that is the reason you have not seen as much of him as you might have in the past. He recently became a father and with all that comes with that there is little time to run the tour schedule. Look for him to begin playing more and seeing "The Cannon" once again at the top of results pages.

On the winners side Grady was playing a guy by name Neil from Georgia. For one shot grady`s opponent called the referee to watch the shot.Inspite it was a good hit referee called it as a foul. After that Grady and his opponent were badgering each other with m.F this and that. Then Grady suddenly lounged forward and tackled his young opponent and took him to the ground. Then a staff member came and grabed Grady and removed him from the site.Later the owner of the room came and addressed the issue.I was saddened to see a once upon a time great player like Grady in physical fight and on the floor.later Grady lost his match.

As expected there was lot of action. It was like pulling the teeth to get the information inspite I was good at it.
the legendary 74 year old Tuscaloosa Squirrel beat Ricky Byrd in one pocket.Ricky gave 8-7 and played 500-1000$ a game.
Shanon has not got into action yet.
Mike ,the Sicilian ,from Vegas has been gambling nonstop with any one who will play him.
`Scooter` from Ohio has been duking out with willie Hagerson( a Local) in 9 Ball and is not over yet.
`Biloxi Mike`( He is actually from New Jersey and came to Mississippi to work in Casino) has been in an intense battle in one pocket with a very young kid by name Justine cone from dodge city,Alabama for 200$ a game. The fight is not over yet.
Earlier there was a conflict between Bo from Dothan Alabama and the onterouge of `Scooter` when Bo grabed the pooled money and claimed that he was not going to pay Scooter.Bo asked the other guys to come out for a fight.I quickly ran out to watch the fight.I was disappointed because it did not happen.LOL.
I had some woofing with the `Tuscaloosa Squirrel`.It did not materiolize.Squirrel said that he would play me for $ 2000.00 a game in one pocket.I told him that it was too small and wanted higher than that. meanwhile some guys tried to add fuel to the fire but fire died and I told Squirrel `good night`.
Atlanta`s `God Father`was also at the site.
Hooker from North Carolina was there but I have not seen him in action but it appeared that he was in side betting.
I left all the fun to come to the hotel to sleep because I am old and feeble and can`t stay till 1:30AM.That is all I got to say folks. Cheers
