i dont know i do it .
just from people telling me.

Chris...At your ability you should do whatever works for you. What does it matter what other people perceive? Perception is different for everyone. All that's important, is that you run out when you need to...and know how to play safe when you need to. If you're really interested in finding out the real answer to your question, you need to do a video analysis of your stroke, and have a qualified instructor go over it with you.

Merry Christmas player!

I had people tell me the same thing, I just always thought it was because I am left eye dominant and play right handed. They always say they cant tell how I can play like I do with my head so far over looking down my cue, so my left eye is actaully aiming <<<ED

I would bet that both your eyes are aiming, equally...SPF=randyg

Lets say both eyes are aiming equally are they contributing the same thing or 2 different things that work together?

Good question. With normal vision both eyes are doing the same job together. It's all about Angle & Distance. Once a player loses an eye it will take some time to aquire that skill again. I have played many one-eyed players whom have great Angle & Distance.....SPF=randyg

Dick Jaspers- a world class 3-Cushion player even so has *only one eye*. A good example that u can shoot even then very good at balls :-)
Me also almost *blind* on my right eye. It works^^

Chris, I am just curious, do you use back hand english? If so maybe you are aiming and then pivoting to use right or outside english because of the cling and throw factor. If you watch Mika, I think he does this alot.

denny searcy

denny was quite a road player even up until he passed and was like family, he lost vision in one eye in the mid 90's and still played great til he got too sick to play.

hey all! new the the site. love the sport. perhaps some of you can assist me. moving up to the big table, I find myself missing more cut shots and losing position...I discovered I'm left eye dominant (right handed). How should I go about aligning my body so that I'm in line. do i cue left of what feels natural to me? do i twist my body more so my left eye is over cue? do I lean my head over? what is the solution? thanks.

The key is to position your eyes over the cue so that what you perceive is accurate.

Try laying the cue on bed of the table so that it is accurately aligned between a diamond on the head and foot rail. Assume your shooting position around the cue without moving the cue. Adjust your head/eyes until the cue looks like it is accurately aligned with the diamond. Adjust your stance top accomplish this while remaining stable and comfortable. This is the position where your eyes should be.

Chris, much respect for your game but I gotta ask...
Are you Travis Trotter in disguise?
