I know it seems really strange but its not as mechanical as it seems. If you think of it as if you're a robot, you're making it hard for yourself. You can simply line up on the edge to edge line while standing up then drop down to centerball and should be fine. When you over think it, it makes it harder than it needs to be.
Play around with it and find what works for you.
Andrew,
Thank you so much for this post. I PM'd you on this topic yesterday and then you post one of the answers today. Cool. I have been testing the waters of this system for a few weeks now and the aiming part is right on. I would even go so far as to say that a couple shots could incorporate the fractional aiming system using 1/4 ball vs Edge or Center on OB. Where I had a hard time was getting any kind of rythm when integrating the bridge hand on the table pivot. I must have really looked strange in the last few tournaments. Mine was a very mechanical, robotic pivot. I made a lot of shots but it felt very awkward. I later went home and practiced and noticed that if I stood back, got on the aim line, saw the shot, then dropped down to center ball, I was right on most of the time, unless of course I picked the wrong aim point. I could then BHE a little english from center if needed. This worked really well. I had asked someone about the table pivot and the reasoning for this was to reproduce the same set of actions going into the shot each time and that over time you would feel comfortable pivoting in the air. I think this feels much better but the pivot seems really slight with this manner if any. Thank you again, you have made at least one person's game change for the better. Much appreciated......
