Alex & SVB Score Thread

I can't even fathom how much heart Alex showed this week and how many fans he must of made after winning the Masters this week with a great comeback and then coming back on Shane like this.

$30k so far this week?

Hope he mails Phoebe some money before the craps tables start calling to him.

lol, I was thinking the same thing. I pool player with $30K in a casino is a recipe for disaster.

His jump cue is a fischer cue which he couldn't use. He played with his schon and funny sounding joss shaft. What a match for all of you who couldn't stay up or just didn't pay to see it you missed out big time. I don't think the DVD will catch the atmosphere thats was surrounding the last 10 to 15 racks as Alex was putting it on him.

Yeah and you could have won more from me had you let me bet on shane.

Forgive me if it was already mentioned somewhere in the last 40 pages, but does anyone know how much action Alex had with the railbirds?

At this point I'm rooting for Alex to snap off the Predator 10-ball too if he's still in.

He might as well just make it a $50K week lol

But fisher is what the Commentators said....
If you have been watching the threads on az you should know he shoots for Diveney. He has had the cue for 4 weeks and should have about 2000 games on it by now. Butterflycues

he didn't use the diveney. I watched the match he used the same old schon he has been using forever

Ohh well thats new to me.... is good to know that hes got a new cue... Thanks for the info butterflycues and just about a

I hate to throw a monkey wrench in the good thoughts about how much monies Alex has pocketed. Believe me when I say I am in Alex's corner all the time. I happen to really like this kid.

That said, most players, especially those who travel, have backers and/or stakehorses, and let's not forget the savers that occur from time to time.

Alex did win 50 dimes, but how much of it is truly his is another question after you pay the tournament tax, stakehorses, backers, expenses, savers, et cetera, et cetera.

AND the casino environment is not a healthy one for pool players who enjoy gambling. Been there, done it, and hate it.

JAM

holy shit what a gambling hangover i have this morning.
gawddam what a go off i am.
oh well, on to the next game.

I paid off all I could, still waiting on payoff info from a few. If i dogged it and missed anyone, just PM me. I'll be here working on my wrists with the dull spoon.

Oh hell, I just stayed home today. Two hours isn't enough sleep for me after that great match. TAR is hitting some homers with the way these battles are working out.

I've never seen Shane so down, but I have to say that loss will only make him stronger. When he's ready to go again, as much as I like Alex, I don't think I would bet too much against Shane.

Maybe if he beats Shane again in the rubber match. ;)

The only thing SVB beat alex was during the Derby for 3 sets 15K total...after that according to Alex that his been beating SVB on their money game...I also heard that Alex Beat svb Friday evening in Vegas before the or after the world pool master 4 sets ($500, $500, $500 and $2000)...I think Alex is the best between the 2 right now...and that's the fact :)

+1 He broke, jumped, and shot with that cue. I could have sworn that that ferrule was cracked the way it sounded.

I think that same old Schon he was using is a Joss that his grandfather gave him. It has his name where the points are. At least that is what he told me when he ordered his cue. Butterflycues

Guys do you think the fact that SVB plays with a new cue (fisher cue, he used to play with a schon b4) he needs time to adjust to it.... I know 190 plus racks is enough to adjust.... what say.....

Hello,

Friend of mine asked me to clear this one up, Shane's Jump cue is a Fisher, His cue before last fall was a custom Joss w/ his name in the points, the cue he used from last fall until about a month ago was a 4 point schon, he recieved a new cue from Pat Diveny, He did shoot the challenge match w/his schon.

He's probly not comfortable with the diveny yet, and is to busy matching up and w/tournaments too switch, I don't believe he is sponsered by Diveny, pat just made him a cue to use, before anyone jumps me about giving someone a cue pretty much implies sponsership, NO IT DOESN'T, players of this level, usualy get payed for playing with cues,

Shane is comfortable w/my jump cue, he could switch at anytime, I gave it to him to use once apon a time, it was a b/j cue, His break used to SUCK, I out broke him big time, but guess who's out ruling the world, and guess who's in a shop building cues:cool: not to mention his break isn't too shabby now is it.

Just wanted to clear up that Shane's playing cues currently are a Schon, and or a Diveny, which every he's comfortable using,

IMO, not only shouldn't he have tried to switch cues until the summer, he shouldn't have booked this challenge match sandwiched between two tournaments, and during a long stretch of pool, should have set it for a weekend nothing was going on, and prepared for it and had all his energy and attention souly on that. Pro boxers, prize fighters don't fight 10, 12 round fights in a weekend, they fight 12 rounders 2-3 times a year. Too much going on at one time. Just my opinion. Wait till the rematch.
