All around best american player??

Winner plays Larry Nevel in an all around of jacks (with the big bouncy ball), high jumping, and Bonus Ball.

LMAO! High jumping. I feel that a standard 12 inch ruler will be sufficient to measure the jumps of all three participants...combined.

they play banks at dcc cause its a better game and more players play it.

That's surprising to hear. It's fair to say 14.1's unpopular, I love the game but won't argue that. But there's no way more people are playing banks than 14.1. Banks is something I only see fairly serious gamblers do. I see the occasional 14.1 game in the various pool halls I've been to. I've never seen a single game of banks. Maybe it's just this area.

Personally, I love 14.1. My favorite game to watch. But I do think that in the whole of the USA, more people play and gamble at banks, which is another game I really like.

Just take into account Kentucky, Ohio and Chicago. Think of how many of them play banks every day! 14.1 is way more popular in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. But over-all, I would say that there is at least 3-4 times more people gambling at banks than 14.1. 14.1 players do sometimes bet, but most every bank player always bets something.

nice post terry right on here.

I will admit I'm in the east. I had no idea banks was so popular, I see people playing 14.1 for funsies and for money. I literally never have seen a single game of banks. Maybe I can introduce it to this part of the country. I tried a game once but neither of us banked well enough to make it much fun, it was about 3-4 misses in a row before anyone put in a ball. When it takes 15 innings for B players to finish a game it's hard to imagine anyone liking it >_<

they dont play banks everywhere either.

Larry,
I consider Shannon Daulton, John Schmidt, Danny Harriman and you as the best all-around active American players. The new generation after Nick Varner, Grady, Allen Hopkins, etc. And every one of you guys are as different at night and day. Every human being has good points and bad points. Shannon and John have huge fan bases because of how they conduct themselves. I met you twice and you were super. I like you. I also think you have the most powerful pure stroke of any active player, anywhere. But I also see a chink.....your temper has always gotten the best of you! How many prospective money games do you think you lost because of your temper tantrums. Guys who can't knuckle won't want to play with you. You really shouldn't say stuff like that about threatening to assault John. For what? And why? You really got that much anger in you? Are you really that out of control? I don't think so. You should come here and give your honest opinion minus that tough guy 'tude. Trust me Larry, lot's of guys are way tougher than you'de ever, ever imagine.

Lighten up my friend! With all you know about pool, with all the stories you could tell about matching up, if you shared some of that kind of stuff, you'd be amazed at how many fans you'd pick up. Unless you ain't really interested in having any.

I won't be able to shake your hand in Las Vegas. I ain't never been east of Ohio! :D But if I was there, I would love to meet you again and buy you lunch. I think you have a lot of good to offer pool. But also, I would make certain that you wouldn't even touch John Schmidt. I would stand in for him, cause there's one thing I can do better than Mr 400! :D

Larry, please, don't be a bully. Bullies are only good for one thing. They're heavybags with eye-balls! :)

My very best to you, sir!

Still a fan of yours,
Terry Ardeno

I was looking through your pictures, man youve met some cool people!~

D-D,
I always knew you had them powers, and I dreaded that they'd ever be unleashed on me! Listen man, I'll put $5.00 into your PayPal account if you take the one with me shaking hands w/ Obama out! The other one, w/ the Bambino and Joe, that's a gruesome shot that looks like my head was partially taxidermied before you filled the neck and checks out 2 extra sizes. Looks like part of the set at the end of one of them Texas Chainsaw Massacure movies.....big, ol' ugly heads just laying about! :D

You're incredibly awesome D-D! Thanks for the great laugh!

PS-I still like Larry Nevel and think he's a great player with a very bright future if he continues in pool.

PSS-What you did to Bartrum the other day on the 14.1 poster was also hilarious! Meant to tell you that earlier!

I've been gone all day (there was actually, gasp, action at the pool hall today) but it seems like I might have missed something. I see a quoted post from Terry Ardeno that looks like it was in response to a post from Larry, but I don't see a post from Larry. I just tried calling him and he didn't answer (I think he's at work) so could someone fill me in?

Alright, no need to fill me in. Larry just called and gave me the info on all the posts that were deleted. Figures, the one day I don't take my iPod with me to the pool room and I miss so much. :sorry:
