Allen Hopkins Presents: Team DMIRO Nationwide 10 Ball Tour

Are you going to have qualified referees for your events? or are you going to rely on the players to call fouls?

I've always professed the need for 'all ball fouls' in the pool world. Why American pool players are so afraid of this is just beyond my comprehension.

We've been playing all ball fouls on the Joss Northeast Tour for several years. It was instituted specifically to put an end to:

(1) Bridging over a ball and moving one of them regardless of how it happened.

(2) Attempting a jump shot and moving a ball in the process regardless of which ball moves.

All other fouls including clothing and belly fouls are gravy. Virtually no arguments anymore. Anything without a ref goes to the shooter, period. It is your perogative to call a foul on yourself. No penalty.

Through the years, Mike Zuglan has asked several players not to return to a Joss Tour event. I don't remember a specific instance where all ball fouls was behind the disagreement. Usually racking the balls.

i am glad you are on the west coast and i am on the east coast so there is not much chance to meet you on any occasion.....

do you intend to play in these events? do you have any interest in these?

Thanks for everyones questions and comments yet again. It is appreciated. I have not had a responce from Spokan yet, however, it is the holiday weekend, I hope to have the schedual set by next friday so we can do the offical press release, and announce the tour dates and stops. Anyother rooms? Call them tell them to call me! More updates to come soon..

i just got notification that allen is having a barbox 10 ball event in valley forge the weekend of aug 7-9th. is this date directly in competition with the first event you have booked for your tour? and in the same area as well... just curious

True, we have had to move the 1st event to a later date. Allen wasn't going to hold an event, but now has been forced to so we have had to make some changes. Its unfortunate but there is nothing Allen and I could have done...

I must have flown through the thread too fast, because I didn't see that Allen posted any promises on here.

Anyone can say that Allen is behind something or that they have his support, assistance, funding, etc..

I think everyone is waiting to hear proof of this support from the man, himself. When the website is finished and Allen's support is clearly identified there or in some other recognizable form other than "Just because I said so," I believe you will get more of the response and support you are looking for.

And, if I did manage to pass over a comment from Allen, I apologize for missing it. Please point me in the direction of that post.

While at the Valley Forge 8 Ball event, Allen allowed Mike to speak to the assembled players at the players meeting regarding the new tour. Whether Allen is actually part of the tour or just lending his good name remains to be seen. I want to see the first few events happen before I pass judgement.

I wasn't passing judgement. I was just suggesting that more proof might be necessary for everyone to believe.

If Allen allowed him to speak about it and didn't interfere, I'd say that's a pretty good sign.

I still think it would still be a good idea to get the website online. It's been promised for a good while, now.

And the last poster was correct, Allen had me make the annoucement about the tour at the Bar Box 8 Ball Event. Only because I am the tour director and I am the one putting everything together. He had intentions of making the annoucement him self, but passed the job to me.

I am sorry about the website, there is nothing I can do. Mike Howerton has had some schedual problems and he is still working on it.

Mike Andrews is solid and Hoppy is behind this. If someone wants to sit back and watch first - that's a normal reaction based on the history of "tour pool" during the past few years. However, when Allen is involved in something like this for the players - it's legit.

I need no proof of anything. Allen's phone number is public call him. Who do you think re-designed the new logo. Allen Jr. I talk to Allen everyday, he is the president of the corporation we started together. That corporation is hosting this tour, Team DMIRO. So, I need not explain anything, what you need to understand is when I say something, it is the truth. I am not just some fly by night kind of person. If you have questions direct them to me, ask me, talk to me, don't just make assumptions based on your lack of trust in the world. You know, not everyone is a crook or a con out here. That will be the last I have to say about this.

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate it. You are right there was just a bit more behind the scene then everyone here has seen. But with that being siad you are right. I am sorry if it seemed "hot" but I was just stating the facts and being very blunt. We are working hard to get this going. Allen Jr. is working today I have been on the phone all day. We all are working hard, and I know for a fact Mike Howerton is working on the site today, I just need a little more patience from everyone. Thanks agian for everyones kind words and comments...

If you adopt a wait and see profile and wish to join when your comfort level is reached, welcome aboard. It is about all of us. This forum is the most active place for pool. We have outright beginners and seasoned pros and all in between. Lets all come together for the good of our sport.

For someone who has been 'attacked' <I use the term loosely> repeatedly, I think the time it took for him to finally respond like that says a lot. He has taken a lot of heat on here, and he remained a lot calmer for a lot longer than most people would have.
