Allison Fisher Cutec Shaft Conspiracy!

Hmmm...I don't know what the big deal is if she is or is not.

Do you think Tiger is playing with Nike clubs you can buy off the rack....Nope!...Hell I wouldn't even be surprised if the ball Tiger uses is not "on the market"

Can you get the shaft Allison uses on the market??? Probably not becuase likely (as MANY pros do) she had the shaft customized.

I say just call it what it is....A "prototype"

How do you think these major companies do thier R&D???

You are right that Tiger does not play the ball sold. He plays a Platinum ball that is 1 octave lower sounding than the ball sold, but it is identical in every other respect. His clubs are made in Ft Worth whereas the off the rack clubs are put together in China. For the most part they are similar, but just not made in the same place.

There is a picture of Earl in the front of some magazine where he's holding a Cuetec with what is obviously a wood shaft.

Very true! Earl & Allison though are two different minded individuals...hence one has a sponsor still & the other NOT.;)

Actually, wasn't it posted relatively recently, that Cuetec no longer sponsors Allison Fisher either. It's well known that Cuetec and Earl Strickland are no longer affiliated, especially since Earl is trashing Cuetec cues.

I thought it was the APA that stopped sponsoring her. I think Cuetec still does.

She is still on the Cuetec site as being sponsored.

Allison is still sponsored by Cuetec and she plays with a STANDARD cue..always has. Anyone who says otherwise has no clue what they are talking about.

From time to time, she tries out prototypes of possible new models but not very often.

For Alison level, she can play with any cue. :groucho: Why question her about what shaft she using?

As the original poster, I am not questioning her at all, rather I am questioning all the posters who claim she does not use an 'off the rack' Cutec

My original question was 'does anyone have any proof or is this just pool hall, pool forum gossip?'

Just because she can play with a sponsor's particular cue does not necessarily mean it would be her cue of choice.

Question is, what would be her cue of choice and/or shaft of choice?

This may be off-topic, but I was trying to go back and see if Allison had replied to my email to all IPT players to divulge what they were playing with. I guess she didn't, but this thread from the IPT forum was still interesting and shows she played with a Cuetec; no other details mentioned.

Sorry bigshooter. My intention was not to query you. But to the public. Please except me apology.

I think all of Tiger's clubs are now available to the public. The driver he uses now he used once long before it was available to the public. Same thing with the ball until Nike started mass producing them. Matter of fact, Tiger still puts with the Titilist putter he's always used. Not sure on the irons as I cant see them close enough to see exactly what they are.

Just an FYI - Tiger doesn't use "the same Titleist putter he's always used". Scotty Cameron has made Tiger numerous putters (some of which he has put in play, and some of which he's literally scoffed at). He currently (and for quite awhile) is using what would be closest to an all G.erman S.tainless S.teel Newport II. It is VERY similar in design to a Patent Pending (older model) stainless PING Anser II (that he used growing up). But Tiger has put a couple of other putters into play during his pro career (all being Titleist though)....in fact, his first Masters win wasn't with the same style putter he's currently using - I know if I'd blown away the Masters field like that I'd NEVER use another putter, but I'm a few major wins behind Tiger, so what do I know. Sorry to all those who hate the golf talk, and don't care what the heck Tiger's flatstick is.... :p

now, back to Cuetec talk....ENJOY

Everyone says that Allison Fisher does not use a Cutec shaft on her cue.

I have read this for years on various forums and although I personally don't care one way or the other I am wondering is there any proof this is true or is it of internet rumors that's been repeated so many times everyone assumes it's the truth?

So exactly what is the implication anyway?

Does Cutec make her a custom shaft for the cue?
Is it a shaft made by another cue maker?

Anyone have anything other than speculation and guesses?

Not that it really means anything, but if you look at the Q&A section of her website, she maintains she uses an "out of the box" cue with the exception being that it is 56" long.

Who's everyone? I'll guess that there over a hundred AZers that seen up close her playing shaft and can testify that she plays with a stock Cuetec.

Fred <~~~ touched Allison's cue

What I meant was there have been many posts over the years here and on other forums claiming she does not play with a stock cue and I would just like those who claim that to offer up some proof to back up their claim.

I guess 'everyone' was a poor choice of words and if you read through the thread you will realize I am not accusing Allison of anything but rather asking those who claim this to come forward with some proof.

Okay, but I've not seen many of those if any. I recall people asking, and people like Kevin or me or anyone confirming that she indeed plays with a Cuetec shaft.

Earl Strickland on the other hand sanded down his Cuetec to the bare wood.

I oughta keep my mouth shut, but.... how can Allison's cue be "stock" if it is 56" long? Somebody somewhere has done some extra work on it to shorten it. I haven't seen any 56" Cuetec cues "out of the box". And.... what the heck does "out of the box" mean anyway? The only box I ever recieved a cue in was the UPS or FedEx shipping box (and I've gotten a few nice "custom" cues out of those type of boxes ;) ). I think "out of the plastic wrap" would have been a more appropiate description  . Couldn't it be possible that whoever shortened her cue could have made OTHER subtle changes to it to suit her needs?
I don't know a darn thing about her cue, and really don't care all that much one way or the other, but my point being that a 56" cue from Cuetec cannot be a stock cue.
And let's not forget what a previous poster has hinted at.... it's not the arrow, it's the Indian that matters.

Tiger's irons are forged in Japan by a very famous forging house and they are not available to the public. The Cameron Putter he uses is a 1 of 3 which he has had for most of his pro career but not all. He used to use a Newport Longneck TEI3 and before that he used a stock Ping Anser.

As for the Driver, all Tour equipment is out several months before we can get it and even when we do it isn't exactly the same thing. BTW, those "stock" shafts that you see the pros's hitting in their woods are not really stock at all. They are whatever shaft the pro likes best with graphics wrapped over them to look like the stock shaft
