Amazing Kick Safe by Earl Strickland

Thanks Matt90

It was a great safety played by Keith, followed by an amazing escape by Earl, and captured on video by a brilliant up and coming videographer (Matt90). You should thanking Matt for capturing a bit of billiards history for us all to enjoy.

I agree. Thanks so much Matt for your contribution to this forum and helping pool try to get the exposure it so desperately needs.I was lucky enough to see this shot live via his stream and knew I was watching a bit of pool history in that amazing kicking shot by Earl.If not for you Matt90 I would have never been able to feel like I was right there live!!Thanks again and keep up the great job it is not going unnoticed!!

I don't see why people can't accept things for what they are.

Keith played a fantastic safety. And Earl took some time to study the escape. Normally he walks up to the table and shoots, but this time he was calculating the hit on the return track and hit it, and the result was amazing. I was standing behing Matt90 when Earl played the shot and said that was the best kick safety I had ever seen. And it takes a lot to impress me.

Well said Lou.

The feed was an excellent one too. I hadn't watched a bazillion of 'em, but this was the first one I watched in full screen that didn't look like the zig zag man. It was better full screen and I could differentiate between the friggin 3, 5 and 7. If I'm watching pool and don't know which ball is which, then I don't know the out pattern and I'd rather be watching a grass growing contest in slo-mo.

Matt90 commented that ustream required a minimum of 300MBPS (or whatever data transfer rate it is, lol) and he BARELY got that. And still had a great feed. Nice work Matt!

thanks

I appreciate the good report .I was just the lucky guy there with the equipment
lol. Lou it was a pleasure meeting you and a few others this weekend . I
had a blast as usual . We are in the proccess of getting a few advertisers
so that we can stay out doing this a few times a month.
Hope all of us guys from the Carolina's give Earl the support a player with
his ability and record deserves . I'm going to G'boro after the storm and see
if I can take another lesson from him and give him a big thanks for letting
me stream the match ,without the player there is no stream .Earl is the
very reason that pool in the Carolinas is as strong as it is .No other state
in this country or the world for that matter can boast to have a player
that has played on the level he has .

Thanks Matt90.

Now can someone explain the method for calculating this 3-rail kick?

Purdy Please.

Let me know how the lesson goes.

you know from where he was he was just tryin to make a good hit and not give up ball in hand. what anyone would want even earl. so he made a good hit and got very fortunate. i think bartram see's it the same way.
anyway keep bumping to keep this one around a while.
