America's Most Wanted segment on Mike Surber

GunnSlinger is correct. I spoke with the producer this A.M., Tom Morris, Jr. He said presently the segment is scheduled for Friday, August 17 at 9 P.M., EST; 8 P.M., CST.

He said the segment is 6 minutes long, which presumably is a decent length. I don't know what to expect in terms of viability in helping with the murderer's capture. Tom is happy with the segment, but sometimes producers are just in love with the technical aspects of their work.

Still, this will be a great day for Mike's cause. Tom said he'd contact me if the date changes.

I no longer have cable nor satellite television. I wish someone would tape the show and somehow post it on YouTube for all the members of the social media to see.

Bump!

The airing by America's Most Wanted of Mike Surber's case is THIS FRIDAY.

Hope it works. It seems like this should have been solved in week one. A friggin video tape of the guy who is at least a casual member of the pool community. My guess is still that he was recent prison releasee and is already back in the can.

Don't forget to email the date and times of airing to your friends in your contact list.

Facebook is a good method for getting the word out too. I'm going to use both methods.

If you have a large Twitter following go for that too.

Folks:

I noticed the Obituary and Guest Book section of the http://mikesurber.com/ website had expired, so as my small effort to the cause, I went ahead and purchased the mikesurber.com website a PERMANENT membership to keep that part of it online and available to everyone.

I know, it's not much, but I hope in some small way I've helped! :o

I'll definitely tune-in to the broadcast of the AMW segment!

-Sean

kudos to you

AMW was in town (Gulfport, Miss.) a few days ago taping a segment re Mike Surber's murder. It's reportedly supposed to air anywhere from mid to late August. AMW is now with Lifetime network. Their time slot is 9 P.M. on Fridays.

They taped interviews with the four of us who had contact with the presumed perpetrator during the time Mike and he met. I'm sure they filmed other footage as well. For some reason they wanted me to be shooting pool while describing the events that led up to Mike leaving the poolroom with the suspect. This was pretty awkward to do, but hopefully they'll get something out of it. I don't know if they'll produce a full segment, or just a blurb.

We're all desperately hoping that the AMW segment will not only bring renewed interest in this terrible crime, but that a wider audience might bring in some new leads. It's now been over 32 months since Mike was murdered: November 10, 2009.

If y'all would like to refresh your memories, JAM has constructed a very nice website on the subject: www.mikesurber.com The guy is approx. 5' 7", 180 lbs. I'll let you know if I find out when the show is to be aired.

Doc

I pray that his murderer is caught swiftly and that soon after the show you'll be posting THEY CAUGHT HIM!
It's been too long.

Bumpin it up.
Hey Doc, I'm Mikes old friend from virginia. I met Joe at derby city when he and Mike roomed together...the year Mike finished 3rd in the 1 pocket.
Say hi to Joe and all Mikes friends for me...we need to get this guy!
Thanks for all you have done.

'Preciate the bump, GunnSlinger. P.M. me your real name, and I'll pass on your greetings to the Gulfport crew.

And Sfleinen, thanks for your kind gesture. Very thoughtful.

Y'all mark your calendars for this Fri. nite, 8/17 at 9 eastern, 8 central. If for some reason they've rescheduled it, I'll find out the date.

I'm just hoping that the segment will be helpful in terms of leading to a capture of the suspect. AMW seems to have a good track record.:)

It's hard to understand how this happened to Mike, none of it makes any sense and I don't think it ever will. I miss him alot. He was one of those friends that you could call anytime and talk about anything.

Channel and episode information

Folks:

Just so you know, just in case this episode might air at a different time in your local area, the proper episode to record (e.g. PVR, Tivo, etc.) is this one:

Lifetime (or Lifetime HD)
"New, HD, S25/Ep35, (2012), (TV-14V), The use of social media to track criminals, pursue pedophiles and locate missing people is explored. Included: the murder of a professional billiards player; the slaying of a middle-school teacher. (Reality, 60 mins.), (V=Intense Violence)."

On Comcast, "Lifetime" is channel 38, while the HD version is 550. Obviously those channels will vary with your particular service (cable or satellite).

Hope this is helpful!
