I played Danny Barouti and he was made aware that I would be writing the results and some match reporting online and was fine with it.
On that note here we go.
First things first I once again won the lag. I am thinking this year at Valley Forge of including a lag challenge as well as a 14.1 challenge. This is something I think everyone could get into and is quick and easy but enough of that for now especially because if I enter I dont think anyone else will.
Danny broke and left me a shot which i made and ran a total of three whole balls lol. Its funny too because I felt great shooting my first two shots but unfortunately made a bad choice to play a combo and simply took it for granted.
Danny then went on a 131 ball tear. It was incredible to watch. One of the things that truly amazed me was his speed. He knew what he had to do and simply did it. If a pattern got messed up after a little grumble he was over it and adapted. You can honestly see the years of experience in his game and the confidence in which he pockets balls. Halfway through as he got closer and closer to the hundred even as his opponent (and friend) I had to root for him. You could audibly here me urging balls to roll that extra inch to give him a shot or better shot. It was a great thing to watch Danny shoot and I feel honored to have seen it in person. It is the first time I have ever had over a hundred ball run put on me and it felt fantastic.
Final Score - Danny-150 Charlie - 16
On another note Chris Lynch was on hand as well as Jerry Tarantola and DR9Ball himself Rufus although he didnt get to stay for the match.
**Disclaimer number 2 **
Chris Lynch was looking sharp tonight in his brown suit ensemble and you know what Im not telling him im posting this !!!! lol lol.
Guys I can not tell you the rush it is to play with these greats. Although Steve Lipsky last week clearly ducked me. Birthday Schmirthday lol lol lol.
It really is an honor and I look forward to grabbing the rack each time they get out in the hopes that I can show them "What I Got" as well. It is extremely humbling to play with these guys and a hell of a lot of fun to see them in a more social atmosphere than at rip your throat out tournaments.
See you all again next week and as for Danny great shooting my friend it truly was an honor.
