Does look like an interesting idea. I often encounter racks in pool halls where it's as though they are not the correct shape. When you move the balls forward to tighten them up against the apex it is obvious the balls aren't in the correct position. As if the angle of the rack is incorrect.
This flexible rack seems to address the problem. Don't know if it will help me make the wing ball but I'd settle for a nice tight rack every time.
Though it actually looks like something you could produce in your own garage in about 3 minutes. Basically two flat sticks with a hinge.

haha, cute lil gimmick. "Make the wing ball"...people will think it's a gaff rack. They need to put an asterisk next to that claim because the wing ball goes easier when the rack isn't perfect. This thing doesn't leave a guaranteed gap above one of the wing balls does it?

I've always thought this would be a good idea...It's not like we ever use the back of the rack.
The sardo is kinda like this except it has that push down thing. I don't like the adjustable nature of this rack. If it was set to exactly 60 degrees it would be perfect.
I'll make one and test it out.

I thought the same thing but if you need to push the balls forward to tighten them the material you made this out of would have to be very ridged.
That's kinda what I was thinking too.
I first saw this thing about 15 or 20 years ago. Never gave it much thought, I felt it was just a gimmick. Maybe it was a different maker that put it together. I don't remember if I tried it or not.
I think I might even have one in my garage somewhere. I'll look when I get some time.
