Another Suspect Auction on Ebay (Balabushka)

This is a sweet one, and I think the guy has set the reserve price of $23,500right about where it should be. There are a lot of nice things about this cue. Only thing better if it were a Szam blank. Definitely hoping this auction will run it's course like the "big box" did to see what it fetches. Reason is purely selfish....I know where this cue's daddy is.

I always thought Phil W.'s cue was a 40k cue. Is that the cue your talking about?

how do you know it's fake?? if in fact you really don't have first hand info that it is, than you need to do more research before you blatantly "out" an auction as being fake. i see nothing in this auction that makes it look like it's fake. just because the seller has no feedback means nothing on ebay today. many people open an account just to place and item for sale to get the most exposure. if it were my auction and i knew of a thread that was started like this id be ticked. i think a better way to handle it would be to post something like a "Is this ebay sale legit??" thread. if it is legit the sky's the limit is my guess.....

skins --------- thinks it could be legit....

Then buy it oh big CNC Programmer. Eat my shorts you nit!!!!!!!!;)

12.1K Now

Not too shabby for less than 2 days at auction. Typical Balabushka, the more you look, the more you like.

Here's my thinking on taking the under. I think it's, with minor adds, a Level 4 in the current BlueBook and is a 13k book cue. The provenance is nice, but speculative, hand the cue to Gus, snap a pic, hand it to Miz, snap a pic, Mosconi, etc.

Kevin

This is a nice cue.... Very close to the one I had except the ring...
The price of $23500 is a good number for the cue..
If the owner got $25000, I think he did very well..
All depends on what someone values the pictures ect..
Best,

If it was my cue - I would have to pay you a visit. You and Bob J have a lot in common, both nits (like to call you both what I really think, but the bosses have warned me about telling the truth.)

Although this cue is uber-rare, and quite fancy, IMHO, the Crescent cue that sold a month or so ago is a much finer Bushka. The aforementioned would certainly get a higher bid from me than this one. Again, IMHO.

If it were my cue I'd also pay Craig a visit to THANK him for bringing my auction to the buyers on this site.

I have no (zip, zero, zilch) probs with Craig, or any one else, sharing their concerns about "suspect" auctions. As a community our track record on id'ing frauds is very high and it's a pleasure when we're proven wrong. At the end of the day we're much better off being safe than sorry. Finally, was there a negative impact of any kind attributable to this error??

Crescent?

Where did the Crescent (Balabushka?) sell? The more I look at this Bushka the more I like it. My estimation of value has gone up a bit in 2 days while everyone's else's seems to have gone down a bit. I've still got some bidding left in this auction, but I must admit I won't be pulling the trigger if the reserve is the purported 23.5K.

Anyone here willing to admit that they are a player above that number? This cue looks to have a little fancier ringwork than the one FatBoy has in his closet. I wonder if FatBoy would share what he paid for his (I know Ken won't tell).

20k and counting with 6 days to go. So much for the BlueBook.A lot of people have posted other Balabushkas, but so far,not one has been as fancy as this one. The Crescent cue is half the cue this one is,and the 2 cues in John Wright's old mailings are not as fancy either. Koo's 3 Diamond falls short also. I know of only 1 that is fancier than this one,but I have not seen them all. Look for the cue to pull a George Jefferson.

i dont wana down anyone but the blue book is a absolute joke.

id rather pin up some prices on my wall, blind folds myself, and throw a dart...

I usually don't comment much these but I have a fancy Bala I bought from John Wright, this cue is probably real but not sure about the seller. My Tascarella certification has a date and drawings of the cue on his certification letter, as do others I have seen.
