Another 'Who's cue would be worth the most' thread

Ok. Since the last thread about plain janes was great in concept but derailed by the fact that so many people seemed to not understand the question, I'll pose a similar one.

Take all the cuemakers in the game today. And have them build a cue with these specs:
Ebony and maple hoppe cue.
4 points of ebony (4 veneers)
maple forearm
hoppe-style
complete with ivory joint and ivory hoppe ring
The cue will come with two shafts with ivory ferrules.

There will be NO INLAYS of any kind. No added extras. The wrap is irish linen. This cue is JUST A PLAIN HOPPE-STYLE CUE!!!

Now, I am NOT asking who's cue you think would hit the best. I am NOT asking what cuemkaer you like the most. I'm NOT asking which cuemaker will charge the most.

The question I pose is this:

Which cuemaker would command the highest dollar value on the second hand market???

The way the Black Boar market has been inflated lately would make the cue you describe worth roughly $142,000.00, wouldn't it :D ?

Realistically, Barry and Dennis should bring the most...

No way man! You are WAAAAAY off!

I said TWO shafts!!! So add another $25,000 to that price!

My answer hasn't changed - B. Szamboti. Agree with others that Searing would be up there and DPK would be quite a big catch. Danny Tibbits perhaps too but he's not as well known.

You pegged it with the first two.

You mean 10 million because Tony has figured out all of the secrets of cuemaking.

I thought BILL taught him everything he knew but not everything HE knew:confused:

It doesn't hurt to have millionaires buying up all your cues and driving the prices up. More power to him! I hope everyone can make a fortune building cues.

I was looking at the Black Boar website and I must admit - the cues do have STYLE!
