Any advice for getting OB shaft repaired?

The issue I have is a cracked ferrule (plus mushroomed, useless tip). Since these are my fault I know I'm not gonna get a warranty replacement. OB has a list of 'cue guys' on their site, I assume the correct move is to call one of them? Does OB handle repairs or only replacement?

Also, any guesses how much this will cost, assuming nothing else is wrong? If it's over 100 I'll probably just buy a new shaft.

Contact Seybert's. they do great work. They will quote you if you call or write

Since you are an AZBilliard member and you have pad under the tip, your shaft might be covered under the warranty.

Should be nowhere near $100.

My local shop does it for $15 + the cost of the parts.

Oops .... Didn't 't know the ferrule was wood. That probably matters.

You can send it to one of the 'cue guys' but make sure you call them first and verify that they have the ferrules on hand and find out what they will charge you for the repair (not all 'cue guys' charge the same for their services)

We do also do repairs so if you send it to us we will do it for you. If you send it to us we should have your shaft no longer than 2 weeks and your repair will cost about $40.

Any questions regarding sending something directly to us are answered here: http://www.obcues.com/pages/Warranty.html

Hope this helps.

Call OB and tell them your story. They stand behind their product. I would guess not much money, and it will be done right. My tip guy left the pad off and the next time I played the wood ferrule crumbled like a dried out choclate chip cookie! They made it more than right. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

If you do send it back to OB have them throw in a couple of the carbon fiber pads, just in-case you replace the tip in the future you will have some if needed. I don't think they cost to much and might be nice to have. Good luck with the repair.

Glad to hear OB offers aftermarket service, even after the warranty runs out. *clap* *clap*

Warranty is for the life of the product when purchased from a recognized distributor. Can't beat that!

I had to return mine and it was a no brainer to get done!

Nice, an answer straight from an OB rep!

Although I'm sure the locals are fine, as it seybert's,
I feel like my safest bet is to send it straight to the source.
I'll let OB handle the repair, 40 is quite reasonable.
I'm gonna call them and set it up.

Thanks again to all those who replied.
