Looks like a case from taiwan to me

got this from US...i have never seen any taiwanese case like this...maybe u can post pictures of some taiwanese cases...

Is the bottom leather also? WHO MADE THIS CASE? I'd be interested to hear the story on this case. Such as where or who you got it from.

not sure if you realize, but the bottom is missing. I'd go with the Flowers/Justis guesses based on the workmanship I see (from here).

I just posted what i thought.

If u cannot accept opinions than dont ask for them:thumbup2:

Many things available in us are made in china, so its not that if u bought it from us it cannot be made in taiwan or china

I wanna say Flowers era because it looks as though similar techniques were used in the construction.

I wonder why someone would say Taiwan? My first thought was Porper because he did some leather cases with similar pockets, but not with that interior.

Also the fact that the back is laced makes it unique suggesting that someone wanted to do their own version of a Flowers case but didn't want to spend the time riveting the back.

I think it looks very cool though. We are experimenting with lots of lacing techniques to figure our unique ways to close the loop.

This is really a nice looking case. Sorry I can't help with who made it.

Good eye buddy. Didn't catch that. Looking too fast I guess. He offered it to me for sale but I have some mint fellini's that might be coming my way. I'm waiting for the pics. This case might be worth the gamble. Who knows.

Porper is def a possibility. I'd think he would've tagged it somehow, somewhere. Maybe on the missing bottom, in keeping with the other makers....

I'm guessing it's an original Jay Flowers case, based on the design and the interior and the age. Probably a good 20 years old. He made 'em tough, just like him.

Yep my Jay Flowers has the snaps on both sides of the lid I would guess flowers! Are you selling it? If yes how much? Thanks Ron

The bottom is wood. Whoever made it has the grain of the wood running the wrong way, you see it is broken in several spots. Probably an early attempt and I would guess the maker changed the way he cut the bottoms later on in his career.

I Don't Think It's a Porper

I have an old Porper with similar pockets and it doesn't match up with your pics. Here's a couple picture of the case I have for comparison purposes:

Good luck with your search of who made your case.
