Any ivory-jointed cues out there in the $500-$600 range?

Let me start off by saying this cue would be shipped to New York, not Thailand- I'm gonna be in NY from May 28th to June 7th visiting my mom for her 70th b-day and the cue could be shipped to her house- I can easily hand-carry ivory back through customs (shipping via airmail is a different story;) ).

I've been wanting to try an ivory-jointed cue for a while, but importing restrictions have kept me from ordering one- I haven't been back to the States in two years- this is my chance.:D

Anybody got anything in the $500-$600 range? A nice player is fine- I'm not looking for anything fancy (I've found that if I buy anything TOO fancy, I can't bring myself to play with it- my Gilbert rarely sees the light of day:rolleyes: ).

Anyway, if anyone has anything, please let me know- no big rush as I won't be in town for a while yet.

I've got quite a bit of positive iTrader feedback- honest buyer here.:)

I have a Gilbert for 775.00.

Link to the cue and specs. Click Here

That's a bit more than I want to spend, but I do love my Gilbert (with a buckhorn joint).;)

Yours is a bit light for me, though- I like some that's 19oz. and change.

No Offense.....

IMHO......you're budget should be closer to $1,000 to $1,200 for an Ivory Joint -- I wouldn't think most folks would put on an Ivory joint on a Plain Jane cue = $500 to $600.....just my $.03 :)

the ticket

that gilbert seems like the ticket in your range. just my 4cents worth. good luck though and happy hunting.

Ya never know- there just might be something out there for me.;)

I agree the Gilbert is nice- it's just a bit light for me at 18.5oz.- Troy is a great seller, though.

Chad carter "sneaky"

Well, I know of one easily in your range with a full ivory joint. I had it at one time, but now I know who does have it, and they might be selling it.

maxeypad2007 has the one I used to own right here

Just drop Mark a PM, if you are interested.

With a Delrin butt cap, that Gilbert is definitely tapped and threaded for a common 3/8-16 weight bolt. If it has aluminum in it now, it can easily we switched to steel to bring it up to weight. Or even add another steel bolt w/out a head under the existing weight bolt. Not sure about your preferences but Gilberts are mostly all forward balanced cues anyway. If they are already tapped, easy to adjust.

Just a thought if you like that cue....

This is my thoughts too. I just sold an ivory jointed Rick Howard, but it was for much more than the one from Troy.

This is the best deal you are going to get....IMO.

Troy is a good guy too.

Looks like I made a deal on a cue- thanks for all the offers, gentlemen- I'll be in the market for something else soon (I always am...:D ).

Re: dealing with Koinnkid: I bought a $1,300 cue from him and found that the veneers in the points weren't very good except for the one point that he had pictured. I contacted him upon receipt and he said that I could only return for "store credit." :( Quite lame if you ask me. Will never purchase from him again.
