Anybody in the U.S. make something like this?

I'm living in a smaller house at the moment and simply don't have the room for a pool table. I thought about putting one outside under the carport, but figured it would probably get ruined out there. Then I came across this in a japanese auction and was wondering if anyone in the states made anything like it? The legs fold up underneath it for easy storage.

Several of us have tables in outdoor or semi-outdoor locations. I have an 8ft Valley BlackCat in my (large) covered patio. I keep it covered when not in use. I chose the "bar box" instead of the "fine furniture grade table" because I too was worried about weather damage, and because the bar box is much more portable.

While it is not my "ideal set up," it works quite well. I had 8 inches of flood water from Hurricane Katrina on the legs. No problem. The biggest problem (and it is really small...) is that I will get an occaisional spider web in the ball return area (worried about brown recluse spiders).

The folding table you show will not have the mass or stability of a large table. You may not like it. But, I look at it this way: bad pool is better than no pool. Good luck.

I have considered a very skinny table.

What really needs to be kept in tune is stroke and aim. I have considered a very skinny table, two feet by nine or ten feet. Put decent cushions on it and it would let you practice stroke, aim, and speed control. Seems like it would be worth at least as much as a golf driving range or putting green in terms of a practice area.

Thats a neato little table. I don't have much room in my basement, but, move the coffee table and that might work in my living room. And you're right, bad pool is better than no pool. Might have to stand on my couch for certain shots, but what the heck. A couple of paper beer coasters here and there and you should be able to level it fairly well. Thats what they use at the pool hall where I play.

I remember an article in one of the magazines once about a concrete table for outdoor use. I can just imagine how slow it would be.
