I was just wondering if anyone here know's this guy? At one time he was wearing a jacket from a pool room but I couldn't make out the name. Is he a pool room owner, does anyone know? Thanks!

I seen this guy in action a couple times once out side he was hooting and hollering about something, his wife was practicality dragging him to the car. He got all mad at Pot's and Pans because he didn't remember him from last year. PNP's kept telling the guy i'm old and have dementia and this guy was all fired up, he is a jackass. Another incident is his son is playing in the tournament and he's not doing to good but he's playing a good player. He get's out, this guy gets on a chair on his knees and starts yelling
"whoo the boy won a game, how come no ones clapping". You could tell the kid was totally embarrassed

Bunny has his moments...like when he said Cardone is a locksmith and holds his cash tighter than Elmers. PnP said Cardone bet him that PnP wouldn't stop drinking...the only way PnP can win the bet is to die.

EDIT: There's a pic of Bunny near the bottom right of this page --> http://www.dmyroncox.com/DerbyCityClassic2007/Photos3.htm

Every time Earl plays, Bunny yell" Get em, Strychnine."
Earl always gives him a dirty look.

But I think that is Tony Stewart the famous nascar race driver. He is known to be an ass on the track and hard to get along with.

Hey, nifty if you think that is Tony Stewart, it is time to schedule that eye appointment.

That dude looks nothiing like Tony Stewart. I have met Tony, back when he was racing USAC Silver Crowns, and Sprint Cars. I did not meet him at a one of those races or a promo. Where I met him doesn't matter.

He was very approachable, humble, and easy to talk to.

Danny D said that Bunny, last name Rogoff (sp?) is his oldest friend and that they used to travel together... road trips. Says he's a great guy.

Lucky for Mr. Loudmouth that Danny was not there to witness the altercation with Bunny. At 72, he can still throw a haymaker. You may not know that he was once a promising Lightweight contender, trained by Angelo Dundee.

I was sick to my stomach when I heard what happend. I can't believe people stood there and let that lunatic go off like that. I'm just a chick and there's no way I would've stood there and let that happen.

I was told recently that Danny D is the only pro-level pool also in the Boxing Hall of Fame? Just parroting what I heard. Is it true he is in the boxing Hall of fame?

I believe that he was voted into a boxing hall of fame here in Ny a couple of years ago. Maybe it is because he was from around the Buffalo NY area...along with his prowness in the ring..............mike

PS...Just checked and read an article http://esf.uvm.edu/vtbox/diliberto.htm that stated the he 14/0/2 as a boxer but had brittle hands that kept breaking so he came back to pol. It also stated that he once bowled a 300 game. He was inducted into what is called..."Ring 44 Boxing Hall of Fame"........mike

2 stories about this guy in the picture

First time I saw him was at the snack bar by the entrance to the main room. He was stinking drunk & yelling and screaming at the ladies behind the counter about something. One of the ladies told him to quiet down, to which he responded "Now she's turning into a real BITC*" The lady quietly picked up a small radio and called security. Within 30 seconds the police arrived. I left at that point, but obviously they didn't arrest him or ban him because I saw him later...

The next time I saw him was at the TV table, it was one of the final matches. He was seated up about 3 rows in the VIP section, he wanted out and tried climbing over some people. As usual he was stinking drunk and fell over a couple rows onto the floor. This guy is a retarded, redneck, alcoholic jackass!

Timberly, since you started this thread, I'm wondering what did you see him do?

See post #5.
Actually, post #5 was about what I heard of him doing. ;)

I first saw him at the Banks finals right after Stevie won. He was hootin' & hollerin"... went down to shake Stevie's hand. I chalked it up to him being friends with Stevie & was happy for Stevie. (I wish that was the case. )

The next time I saw him, he was bouncing up & down the hallway, talking loudly, and just being annoying. The next thing I know, I see him grab his wife's arm and say "c'mon, lets go before I get arrested." and when she asked what he did, he said it's not what he did, but what he was going to end up doing. And they stormed out.

The next day, there he was again. Always bouncing around the tournament area & being loud. I see him storming towards the door saying he just got kicked out of the Derby City. I was thrilled! Not two hours later he was back.

Another night he was standing at the booth next to the IP booth, lights up a cigarette, and loudly declares that he knows he's breaking the law but he doesn't give a sh!t, it's too cold outside.

During the 9 ball finals, he would find an empty seat in the middle of a slew of people, climb over them, sit there for the rest of that particular game and then get down. At one time he jumped and busted his ass. Him busting his ass was one of my fav moments of Derby.

He's one of those loud, indignant, rednecks that simply annoys everyone around him and doesn't care at all. If you dare to say something to him, he'll get louder and start an arguement with you.

I saw him a time or two not acting too bad but it wasn't 30 min later, he was horrid... I think it's more drugs than alcohol but I could be wrong. I just hope he isn't there next yr.

Yes, this is true! Danny's a player rep of mine and one of my closest friends! He is a very multi talented guy. He had 11 pro fights and was undefeated as a pro. And trained by Angelo Dundee until he broke his hand, one too many times, and was advised by the doctors to seek a different occupation. This was when sports illustrated did an article on the Johnson city tournament which inspired Danny to try one of his other talents, pool, to earn a living. He told me he just wasn't suited to a "9-5 lifestyle"! One of his greatest accomplishments, IHMO, which I'm sure will never be repeated, was when in a single afternoon, he bowled a perfect "300 Game" at the bowling alley and then went to the poolroom where he proceeded to run over 300 balls in straight pool! Anyone want to put up some jellybeans and take a shot on doing that! I'll give odds and empty out to anyone on earth who wants to try!
I highly recommend that people read Danny's book, and when his DVD comes out, get that too! I've seen an "in work" copy and it's going to be amazing! He also played Efren, when he was one of the most feared players around and beat him 11-2 in a 9Ball match (on the DVD) and also played one-pocket with him, giving him weight, and beat him (unfortunately, not on video).
His "war stories", up in my room after his accustat commentarys are done at the DCC, are some of my fondest memories.

just more hot air!

There is a saying about people like this "He's a load that should have been swallowed:):):)"

No, his kid had the same haircut he did... choppy. But the kid had blonde highlights and his was a little longer... kinda shaggy.

The kid was well behaved, what little I saw of him. The "fathers" actions are so overbearing, it's easy to miss everything else around him.

Another photo of this guy in the crowd?

Can you spot him?
